Not sure what it is, but something about this cable makes it very hard for my monitor to wake from sleep. Once on, the cable works perfectly, with great image recreation and fast response times. But, the wake issue is enough for me to opt for a different cable in my case. Maybe you'll have different needs/results and I can't say definitively that it is the cable's fault. So, 4 stars from me and I hope you have better results.

I have no idea whether these will support 8k because 4k is the best I have, but it works well, fits well and seems durable.

I needed a new HDMI cable, since my new device didn't come with one. I switched out the cable from my PS5 and hooked it up with this product. I've always viewed as dubious the claim that gold plated connections were better. I've read many articles over the years saying there wasn't any difference, and no real need to pay extra. I suppose, since those articles were written long before very high-speed connections were around, that view has changed. Over the past several months, while watching lots of YouTube videos about playing video games, many of the hosts have touted the big difference between gold plateand non-plated. So, I figured I'd go for it and see what the fuss was about. While I mainly play discs, now and then I'll play online games, and that's where I see the difference. I'd say that for the price of this cable, you can't go wrong.

Fazit: Nicht empfehlenswert!

I recently got a 75 inch Hisense U75K. It's the first TV I've owned that's good enough for a PC monitor since it has a 144hz refresh rate. But when plugging it into my Gigabyte Aorus Master 3080 TI with an HDMI cable, my main monitor which is a 43 inch Acer CG7 using displayport, would drop its refresh rate from its native 120hz to only 60hz after every PC restart. And windows wouldn't let me change it back. It doesn't even give the 120 option anymore in either windows or Nvidia settings. So I needed to see if my old displayport cable was the culprit. Like maybe I damaged it somehow getting the TV plugged in. But no it's some sort of setting issue with either windows, Acer, or Gigabyte. For me to get back that 120 option I have to change the input on the Acer with its remote to any other input, then put it back to the correct displayport input, or I have to physically unplug the displayport and plug it back in. After either it "magically" brings back the 120 option. I have to do this after every restart and literally hours upon hours of Googling hasn't found me a solution. So your guess is as good as mine on what the deal is.So although this cable didn't work out for my issue. It is clearly better quality than my old 2.1 one, so I switched it out for this. I have no issue recommending this cable.

This is a top quality DP cable that has full support for all of the latest standard's functionality. 2.1 is the successor of the push-button ended DP 1.4 (old DisplayPort cable type) so you'll notice that these are bulkier, which is just to hold the new controller inside. The other big benefit is no more button presses to remove the cable from devices anymore which was always a hassle. The video and audio transmission on this are great and fast. I've had no issues running anything and the connection has been stable without any disconnections or errors. I'm very pleased with the performance and it was the last thing I needed to properly complete my main gaming rig setup.
