Not much of a bolt cutter, it couldn't even cut through a padlock. A better description would be wire cutter because that's all it will probably cut through. The blades bent when I tried to cut through a Master padlock.

They are a good value for the money, but they should not be called bolt cutters in that they really can't cut bolts. Great for cutting wire fences and nails.

I was looking for something to cut fence wire with, and I don't have a lot of strength in my hands (old, swollen fingers). These were a bit stiff when I first tried them, and I was concerned, but they quickly eased up, but retained their ease of cutting. no strain at all on my hands, and a neat cut on the wire...no jagged edges.

This bolt cutter was barely able to make it through a small masterlock, and appears to be permanently damaged after this one cut. I don't think it would hold up on a standard-size lock. Might be ok for wire and cheap locks but the quality is not high enough for real work. It felt as though it could break in my arms while cutting. Getting leverage is not an issue, poor quality is.

If you are looking for a smaller version of large bolt cutters, this is it. Fits nicely in tool box. I have not had the opportunity to try it with a lock - I suspect it might be kind of tough. However, for everything I've used it on - works great.

Adequate as a small bolt cutter. Perfect for my purposes. But, it's short. So, it doesn't provide a great deal of torque. Works well on light metals (I just cut up a mattress spring with no problem). Reasonably sharp and effective and stores well because of the short handles. If you need to cut up heavier metals (heavy bolts, heavy chain, etc.), buy a larger cutter. If you just need it for "around the house" cutting as the need arises, this works fine.

I bought this bolt cutter for small cutting jobs and it certainly does that. I was quite surprised though when it was able to cut through a decent sized padlock. I lost a key for it and was glad this cutter solved my problem. 5 stars for me. Small but powerful.

You'll need a bit of effort if you're gonna use these for thicker items because the cutters are on the small side. But for small jobs, these are great. Build quality is good. Item feels heavy, good for leverage and feels like it will be tough and last. Since the price was low, I will definitely rate this 5 stars.
