Absolutely stunning once put together. It's a little daunting when you first unbox it and see all of the wooden pieces, but the instructions are clear, easy to follow, and I put this together myself in about 20 minutes. It has plastic finishing pieces that snap over the metal to give it a finished look and so there's no sharp edges. You can modify the construction so you have a 5" planter on top, or a 9" planter on top -- you can weight the bottom underneath the planter if you're thinking it will blow away -- and it won't. It's sturdy, heavy, and well crafted. We're going to paint the pole matte black to blend in more with the metal bracket and not draw attention to the pole, and more to the planter, which is elegant. Price is a little high - we'd love to have a few more but we are using this one as the main focal point and just using light posts to hold the string lights on either side of this. The neighbors have all complimented on this -- and I told them I built it. Not a lie. But definitely gets me neighbor cred.

The box comes with one planter box. The wood is cedar. The instructions are easy to follow and you pick a planting depth of 5 or 9 inches. The final product is exceptionally well made. I’m very impressed and will purchase another one or two for our courtyard.

This is a very nice looking planter box. The quality of materials and overall build quality are very good. This comes as a flat pack and requires complete assembly. The installation instructions are clear and easy to decipher. Assembly took me and my son about 45 minutes to complete. The only reason for my rating of 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the functionality of the planter box. I would much rather have some sort of plastic liner inside the box to help prevent wood rot which, despite the good quality of the wood, will happen eventually. I considered adding my own plastic liner, but that would prevent proper drainage and could lead to root rot.

To start, this is for a single one of these planter box posts. So if you plan on stringing up lights, you'll need to buy at least a second. I'm using this to extend my garden lights out farther than they already were set up. I have the LED cafe lights up all around my patio and then had one area a little father out that I've been looking at putting a post or something up at to bring them out father, and this was perfect. While a plain post would have worked, the planter in the base looks so much better. I have a large backyard garden so the planter adds to it.While it is designed to be able to hold live flowers, another option if you don't want the maintenance is to use silk. Throughout my garden I plant real flowers every year, but I have a ring planter that goes around my patio umbrella in my table that I put silk flowers in and no one can tell the difference. I do that because watering real flowers on the patio table just results in some of the water getting on the table and since it's mixed with soil, it gets muddy. Silk flowers fix the issue. The same could be done with this planter. You could fill the planter with anything, soil, sand, etc. Then you'd have the look of real flowers or plants all season long, without actually having the maintenance of watering them or trying to keep them looking good. That's what I'm doing with this and it'll help keep the planter looking good longer as well.

Easy to install and look great, light weight (I put a concrete block in each one.) Good quality materials and construction.

It took me about an hour to assemble on my own, and it was totally worth it. The quality is excellent, and it looks beautiful in the yard. It’s sturdy and works great for hanging string lights without needing to attach anything to the house or fence.

I don’t write reviews often but I really loved these light posts and the difference it made to my deck space! We have a 24 ft deck so I bought three posts and the spacing is perfect for how I wanted to hang my lights cross cross. It only took me (barely helping) and my husband a few hours to assemble and get the finished look! The instructions were easy to follow and the wood seems to be solid and sturdy. In the planter boxes I went with some lavender and mint to keep some bugs away/for the smell of course and the creeping thyme in the front to hopefully give it a waterfall effect when it grows out. Can’t wait to spend more time out here!
