5pc Blind Inner Internal Bearing Puller Slide Hammer Set
Description:
This set is for pulling out evenly without damage The parts.
The tongue provides a great range of movement within the bearing's shaft hole with minimal effort which is perfect for hard-to-reach bearings.
You can perform dent repair, lock pulling, or bearing pulling on a scooter or any small machinery.
To use, simply open the collets (clamps) by turning the T-handle clockwise until it fits snugly against the bearing, and then pull out evenly.
Do not over expand – the tool must be used for the inner pilots size as it is intended for.

USAGE
Select the appropriate sized collet by comparing it with the application.

It is covered with burrs from the inside out. Which are about the only things that are hardened in the whole set. They cut into the taper on the bolt like they were teeth on a hole saw, and cause uneven pressure on sides. Usually only one side wants to spring out when tightening, and it feels like it will break off any time. I might have used just one a few times, and the rest are gouged up just from testing to see how they work.

It was okay, but the largest setup was extremely hard to adjust to expand and the rod was too short to get out past strut which made the slide hammer hard to utilize. Ended up not working and I had to create mea homemade tool in order to pull the bearing.

Terrible quality, metal is way to springy and the lips don't catch the bearing, just pulls through everytime.

These pullers are very low quality. They may work OK if your bearing doesn't require much force to remove but it kept popping out on me. After waisting two days messing with this puller I ended up renting a better quality tool and it worked perfectly the first time. You could see the shape of the lip that holds onto the bearing was machined much more precise on the better tool.

I concede this is no Snap-On quality but I knew that going in. I bought this to pull out an original pilot bearing in a 50 year old engine. The other methods I read about without the puller weren't working so in came this little tool. I installed it and tightened it down just a smidge past snug (official torque term) and it gave it a light pull with the slide hammer. I wanted to make sure it didn't come flying back out and land somewhere across the garage. It held firm so I gave it a harder pull and feeling confident the puller was secure on the third pull the bearing popped out clean and easy.To those who are bending/bowing and otherwise destroying the parts; based on my experience your clearly tightening it down way to hard. There is a lip on the end of the pullers that should go behind the bearing NOT tightened INSIDE the bearing. If I was trying to grab the inside of a greased needle bearing only with this then yeah you have to 800 lb gorilla tighten it and I'm not surprised they break. If you need to bust out the 3/4 breaker to tighten the puller in you might need an alternate method. As i said I snugged it finger tight and then maybe another 1/8th with a wrench.
