This product has the potential to be quite helpful. I gave it three stars because I failed to heed the very clear warnings from other purchasers about how difficult it is to remove the paper backing. Some of the issue is clearly on me.It is very challenging (Impossible?) to remove the backing without destroying the usefulness of the dot. In addition to finger nails, I employed the enclosed plastic tool and two different sharp knives to remove the without success.I will keep these as single sided pads to use with picture frames, glass cutting boards, kitchen appliances, etc. but will not be wasting my time using them as advertised.

Like most other reviewers, getting the backs off of these things is a PITA, but they are pretty useful once you actually do. They're just handy to put under the edge of a picture frame to keep it level after hanging, to put under breakable items that might get knocked off of a shelf, etc. I haven't tried hanging hooks or stuff like that, but they don't seem strong enough for that. Also, I find their "removability" highly dependent on the type of surface you're sticking it to. If it's something like tile, glass, or laminated wood: no problem. But I'd be very cautious about putting these on painted walls or wall paper because they are very sticky.

These are 3M so of course they are quality dots of flexible sticky and removable double sided glue. I've found numerous uses for these throughout my home, so I'm glad I ordered these. They work as expected: hold something together, hold something down, and tug and roll up into a ball when you want to remove them without leaving any residue. These are small dots (smaller than a dime), so sometimes I've had to use multiple dots in cases where a larger dot would have been handy. But the hard part...the hard part is removing the plastic backing. Lots of colorful word choices pop out of my mouth whenever I'm trying to remove the backing. Even though they provide a little plastic tool, it's still a *&@%! to lift up the edge of the backing to get a gripe on it. They're still worth it.

These dots are virtually impossible to remove the protective film after placed on an item. I only was able to remove it once and the tool destroyed the flat surface of the dot. They should make the protective film slightly larger so you have something to grab onto. I returned it

It sticks, but not as strongly as specified. I hung a few papers on the wall and other things, and they would fall within two days. I had to add another glue as well for it to hold. I guess it needs a lot of them for it to hold well. It doesn't function as strongly as strong, strong glue. Also, it doesn't leave any residue when removed, which is great. It is very easy to use when sticking and the size is very small.

We bought these with the idea they would be used this summer to hang laminated posters on the outside walls. They were a bit smaller and thinner than expected, so I decided to test it by hanging a laminated 3x5 card on the outer wall with a single dot. It ended up being pretty difficult to peel off the second backing from the adhesive, and it was a little misshapen by the time we got an edge up to peel it off. But the card stayed on the wall for a week, in wind and rain. And when I finally pulled it off, the glue took some brick dust with it. We will have to wait to see how well these deal with heat and humidity, but in the current weather conditions, I'd have to say they are a total success.

I use these clear adhesive dots to hang informational posters at the volunteer trailer during beach cleanups at PINS. They're small—just over half an inch—but surprisingly strong for their size. I’ve used them on painted walls and some plastic surfaces inside the trailer, and they’ve held laminated posters through breezy coastal air and humidity without curling or falling off. The backing peels off easily, and the dots go on clean. When I take the posters down, they come off without leaving behind residue or pulling off paint, which is a nice change from painter’s tape or those blue tack blobs that tend to dry out or leave a film. I deducted one star because the dots are a little tough to reposition once they’re stuck, and if your fingers are bigger like mine, handling them can get a little fiddly. But overall, they stick well, come off clean, and I’ll keep using them.

This has become my go-to brand when attaching collectible figures to the inside of their display cases. The gel dots stick exactly as promised, and they doesn't leave residue or damage the surface of the figure if they have to be removed. I've read people complain about how hard it is to take the paper off the topside of the gel dots, but I usually do it in a few seconds. The trick is to fix it to an object first, then used the enclosed tool to pry the paper off: shove it in and lift and repeat until detached. Sometimes the gel doesn't stick well to certain surfaces, and in such a case it does take me a few extra seconds to remove the paper. But overall, the quality and value justifies the time and effort.
