I ordered these for my Weller WCL100 soldering station. The description said the outside diameter is 6.5 mm / .250 in. I confirmed that a ¼” drill bit would slip into the WCL100 iron before ordering. But these will not slip into the iron. They might be forced into it by twisting with a pair of pliers, but I didn’t try that. Then I pulled up the calculator conversion utility, and found that 6.5 mm is actually .256 inch. So the description is wrong. These may not fit an iron that accepts a .250 inch tip unless there is a lot of play when testing with a ¼” drill bit.Follow-up: I was able to make one of these useful in my WCL100 by placing it into my drill press and filing off its plating down to the copper core. I don’t know if I will take the time to do that to any of the others. The bare copper will oxidize and limit the rate of heat transfer.

Their a standard size that fits well into each of my soldering irons. The small points offer me enough surface to heat the both pieces well enough for a good connection in the electronics I build and repair for the sound recording & audio post-production studio I work at; yet it's small enough to work on a densely populated circuit-board, like the API-style audio compressor for our custom hybrid mixing console I was building in the picture I've attached to this review.Something that surprised me was the durability. The cheap set of tips included with most of the irons and stations you find on Amazon blacken very quickly and wear down much too soon. These, however, barely darkened after weeks of use and show no visible wear.Sure, you could argue that I'm setting the heat too high and that's why they blackened and wore out too quickly, but I was the one using the iron in both cases on the same project with the same tools, same solder, same wick, same power outlet, etc. So the only difference was the tips. I'll definitely try to get these same tips in the future whenever these finally wear down to small to use. They work well, last longer than others, and fit well on most soldering irons and stations. If you need new tips, these are what you're looking for. They could sell these for more, but I'm glad they didn't because the price captured my attention in the first place. Outstanding "bang for your buck" with these.
