My first replacement broke (not this brand) mid-rope. I decided to go with a "compatible with" brand. The parts are of high quality.....minus the handle. The plastic is thin and brittle. 4 months after installation I had the handle slip from my handle at the end of my pull. It retracted and whipped around the mower's handle frame and shattered. I am left with a sharp nub that can still be pulled carefully. My previous replacement had a rubber handle much like the OEM. But that rope failed sooner than I expected and this rope seems durable. Trade-offs, right? I took one star off for a brittle handle. If I could go back in time I would put a light duct tape wrap around the handle. Other than that I am very pleased with this part.

Fits my MTD push mower perfectly, has sturdy build n string was much better then trying to replace my small spring that was problematic in original mower part. Was easier to install than going the other route. Recommend.

Ordered this yesterday and it came today. Super happy since my other one of 16 years gave up the ghost in the most inopportune time. Thankful for Amazon fast shipping and half the cost of O.E.M. Bolted on in under 5 minutes and was mowing a minute later. Really don't care if it lasts another 16 years, which I am pretty sure it will, but for the convenience of it showing up when I really needed it, I am super happy with this product.

The Pull Start Assembly worked well replacing the broken unit on my cheap Chinese made mower. After previously repairing the original one and rewinding the spring, etc., it was nice to find a replacement unit that was worth less then my time to repair. On my mower, it took about 10 minutes to replace.
