DOES YOUR VEHICLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING FAULTS?

Judder:

  • 60-80km/h (low speed): The center support bolts were not tightened.The center support rubber is not hard enough.Not installed properly (insufficient torque on bolts, loose circlips, clamps).
  • Full speed: Intermediate ball cage guard not removed, interferen ce causing shuddering.
  • JudderOver 100km/h (high speed): Coupling design flaws.Poor balance of mating parts, can be rotated 180° re-mounted to solve the problem, tire imbalance.Dynamic balancing issues (product gaps, falling balancing blocks, product design).

Abnormal Noise

  • Infrequent: Poor assembly process.Large circumferential clearance, possibly ball cage, sliding vice.B
  • .Set in motion: Large circumferential clearance, possibly ball cage, sliding viceC
  • .Full speed: Other components interfering with the drive shaft, Damaged fittings (ball cage, universal joints); installation interference, design defects.

Shaft release:

  • Ball cage release (spring is not released, clamp is not installed);
  • Slide release (reverse pull off, loosening of clamp);
  • Slide retraction stall: oil leakage and dry grinding

I had a worn out center mount in my 2011 Range Rover Sport HSE. Dealership drive shaft is 4 times more expensive so I took a chance. My old one had no vibration driving, just a bad shake taking off under a load. At 40 mph this “new” drive shaft vibrates like it’s either out of balance or not symmetrical. Sending it back and getting more expensive one for better quality.
