Speaker indicates green light with full charge, but unit turns off 5 seconds after powering up. It never worked. (unit worked with original battery but had reduced capacity hence the replacement order)

Simple replacement. On the bottom, remove rubber dust cover. Remove four Torx screws . Remove the battery, put in new battery. Re-install four Torx screws. Plug in and you’re set.Very happy with product (other than it was made in China) and was up & rockin’ out.

There is nothing to dislike. I would only say that you should definitely check on the battery for you model. I bought two, without looking at my other laptop. I assumed they were the same and they were purchased around the same time with similar specs. The battery types and sizes are different. I hate that these batteries do not last long. It is not the battery's fault though. These machines have mechanical and optical drives in them. That uses a lot of juice. If you are looking to improve battery life, this is not the way to do it. If you are looking for a direct replacement for a potentially dangerous defective or used-up battery, this is a great solution. If your laptop is simply a workstation replacement, you don't need the battery at all. You can just pull it out and use the adapter when you want to turn it on.

I like that it works ... before I had no working computer ... I bought this battery, now I have a working computer .... What more do I need to say. Cool, it makes the screen come on, and it makes whirring noises inside the computer and maybe most important, it makes the computer .... compute. That makes me smile.
