Mode A is recommended for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC gaming
When you are playing games on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC using Astro A10, A40, A50 headsets connected to the headset, we recommend enabling Mode A. You can mute or unmute the headset microphone by sliding the mute switch (front control) up and down. The scroll wheel control is used to adjust the music or chat volume.
Mode B is recommended for making mobile phone calls or listening to music
When using the Astro A50, A40, A10 with a smartphone with a 3.5mm jack, we recommend enabling Mode B. The button below the in-line mute switch can be used to answer or hang up a call. While listening to music, the Answer/Hangup button can be used to pause or unpause the music. Mode B also enables the in-line microphone.

I've purchased this item multiple times due to the fact that the auxiliary connections tend to go bad over time. This one specifically, becomes defective after a couple months worth of use. I can justify spending $13 every so often, but it's pretty bad when I've purchased 2 at one time before, and now both are defective. As of writing this, my second one is defective in the sense that it doesn't transmit audio through the microphone. When it does, it's inconsistent and it doesn't work roughly 70% of the time. While having audio returned to the headset and I can hear everything in games, or in discord, it's useless if I can't have a conversation.Buyer beware, $13 more often than not adds up throughout the year. Purchase a different product until they can start using quality copper with better insulators and not cheap wire.

A cheaper option to getting the original braded one. It fit my astro 50 headset and sounds good.
