The case I received fit inside my radio perfectly with two AA batteries installed. The batteries fit snugly, not tight, but not loose. The plastic feels similar to the original Yaesu case. I'm not a plastics expert, but it does not feel like brittle plastic. This isn't something I'll use often. It's in my BOB for AM/FM/WX use. The rechargeable batteries are for transmitting.I would purchase it again.

The quality control on this product must be very poor if some reviewers gave it 5 stars. The battery case I received, as noted by other reviews, is too small to accept AA batteries without considerable force needed to insert them. I also needed to use a screwdriver to remove the batteries. Considerable force is also needed to latch the case in place on the radio and risks damaging the radio latch. This is not a comparable replacement to an OEM battery case in terms of fit.

This does what it says it does and is useful for that. I gave it only 2 stars however because one of the 2 batteries was extremely hard to put in and especially to take out. I returned it.

The battery compartment is too short to easily insert the AA batteries. Requires far too much force to insert the batteries. Plastic will likely crack overtime. Disappointed.

This battery works fine and is a good fit into what is a tight fit in the HT.
