I'm rebuilding a friend's Mercruiser lower unit and you really should have this tool to loosen the input shaft retaining collar on the upper gearcase. The retainer collar is quite tight and without the tool you can break off the lugs on the collar. This is well built and worked great.

The shaft holding tool doesn't fit the mercury bravo two outdrive.
