This is a pretty neat presentation set.The aerator adds a bit of height to the bottle and I admit I missed a splash on my first pour. Can’t say it did a ton to the flavor, but I did like that it made pouring a lot easier for the inexperienced. A wine bottle can be picky if you haven’t got a lot of experience. Drips and drops, splashes, poring too fast into a rounded glass, all ways that wine ends up on the table rather than in your mouth.The conical stopper is nice and easy to use. It may not spend much time in a wine bottle, as when we open one it is likely not going to last long enough to need it, but it also fit securely in a bottle of bourbon I managed to tear the cork on, so it is a welcome addition.The wine tool is a similar size and shape to the ones I used for years when I made my money selling wine to diners. It fits comfortably in the hand, and the wood scales look great. I generally prefer a knife that is a bit more curved, but that is solely a personal thing. It cut the foil easily and cleanly. My one ding is that the two step extractor, the part you rest on the lip of the bottle while pulling the cork, has this odd leaf spring that keeps both steps in line. To access the second step you need to push the first away from the bottle. To my mind, that is putting extra force on the screw and cork any could potentially lead to a ripped cork. Again, this is me and the fact that I spent years and years paying my bills with tools like this. For the average user, it is probably perfectly fine, but if you are a current or former waiter, bartender, or other wine professional, note that your muscle memory may trip you up a bit at first.Overall assessment: this is a very good set. I would happily give one to a friend as a host gift or if they are celebrating.

I just opened a bottle of Pinot noir and put this set t the test. The wine opener passes the functionality test. It also feels nice in the handle with a beautiful wood handle. I am giving this review 6 stars for the show stopping aerator! It looks goofy. It seems unnecessarily large and the plastic makes it seem appear cheaper than the rest of the set. It doesn’t matter though. I did a side by side taste test with wine poured from the freshly opened bottle and a second pour using the aerator. I could not believe the difference in flavor! The aerator removed some bitterness that made my wine taste like something in the $15-20 range. With the aerator I would have easily believed I was drinking a $40-50 wine. I am only just beginning to employ the stopper, so I may update this if I return to my wine bottle in a day or two and is over it has soured.This also comes beautifully packaged. This would make a lovely gift but it also a necessity you may not have known you needed.
