My Dad was a blue collar worker with lots of heavy equipment and tools to his name. When he passed away, I found his set of metal letter stamps he used to mark some of his stuff. I wasn't sure at the time what I would use them for myself, but being an artsy type I knew they'd come in handy one day. A few years back I saw bracelets like these sold as a set to go into business with, customizing them for clients. I thought that was a cool idea for a bracelet but didn't need to buy the whole kit and kaboodle since I had the stamps already. Plus, that wasn't really a business I wanted to try to get into. I thought the bracelets would be great for my personal collection, with different words for different moods or occasions. I also thought they'd make great one of a kind, hand-crafted gifts. At the time, though, I was involved in other crafts and activities and let the idea recede into the deep, dark chasms in my cranium.Recently, though, I was surprised to see these bracelets offered through the Vine program and knew this was the perfect opportunity for me to try my hand at making those bracelets I thought were so cool even years ago. At a cost of around $2 each, I thought the 5 pack was a great way to proverbially stick my toes in the water without drowning amidst a huge quantity of unused bracelets if I didn't like the craft, or was just plain horrible at it. So I ordered the small package. They are very nice. The bracelets come pre-tied in a black faux leather cording. Each washer comes covered with protective plastic adhered to it to help prevent accidental scratches, I suppose. I have not actually stamped one of the bracelets yet. I decided to do a little practice stamping on wood marked the same size as the washers, so I could work on getting the letters angled to match the arc of the actual washer. Hopefully this will help prevent me from wasting any more than one of the bracelets. I anticipate wasting one while I experiment to find the best force necessary to imprint the letters nicely in the aluminum. I imagine my first few attempts will vary in force until I can get a feel for the hammer contacting the stamp a number of times. I already plan to stamp one of the bracelets for my personal collection in honor of my dad, with the words "THANKS DAD." I have so much to be thankful to him for and I think he'll get a kick out of what I finally do with those stamps that have been sitting in my tool box so long. I look forward to wearing that bracelet soon.

This is a pack of 5 pre-made washer bracelets ready for your stamping use.The washers are packaged with a protective coating on both sides to keep them scratch-free...and it stayed on in transit, so it did the job well. I found these stamped easily and the completed impressions were easy to read. This is the sort of supply I like to keep on hand for those last-minute gift giving needs. Simply stamp one with their name or a word or two of affirmation that will resonate with the giftee, and you have a thoughtful and easy to make gift that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Love these bracelets! Well made and take well to the metal stamps I am using to create meaningful messages on them. Make great gifts and are also fun for group projects or gatherings to commemorate a special occasion.

I got these to give as gifts to new friends, whenever the opportunity presents. I think it is a neat idea for a product and also as a craft, something a bit different and interesting. Great quality, no concerns. Recommended!

Stamping a set of these bracelets turned out to be easier than expected, and looks really good after the fact. I was able to fit 12 letters per side so you can easily get a short-medium full name or cute phrase on there, depending upon the size of your stamps and your letter spacing. I used standard metal letters from Michaels in a couple of fonts. Both sides can be stamped since the metal part is so thick. Its cord is shockingly sturdy - these types of things are usually stiff or don't otherwise feel right, but this set doesn't have that issue. It feels like a decent imitation leather with more of the nylon qualities, if that makes sense. I would recommend this set for anyone making fun little pieces that wants to fit a good amount of letters/words on there.
