Works great with my old FT-60, voltage is always 8.5 volts when I pull it out of the charger. Neither the charger nor the battery pack overheats. There are no instructions, but there isn't much to know, just plug it in, insert the radio, and wait for the green light. I leave it in there all the time with no I'll effects. The wall wart does not generate any noise in my HF rig right next to it, which is an essential quality.

I pulled the bottom cover off and found what appears to be a smart charger circuit. The main chip did not have any markings but based on the complexity of the circuit I would assume that it's a full blown smart charger instead of just a timed charge . I use this with an Yaesu VX-170 with good results, far better than the factory wall wart charger.The included power supply is a 12v 1A unit with a ferrite which is a nice touch.

Purchased this and 2 off-brand NIMH cells for Yaesu FT-60R. Checked 7.2v cell voltage before charging, cells @ 7.83 volts. Slipped into charger, red light came on immediately. Charged 1100MAH cells for 1/2 hr or so, green full light came on. Slightly warm cell while charging, much cooler than some others. Power supply & charger cool. Left on charger with green light for 30min, so it also trickle charges. Removed cell and waited 10min to check voltage. Blew my mind that it charged to 8.64 volts. Never got hot while charging. Might buy a 2nd one of these after paying $75 for the actual Yaesu drop in charger. With this one, make sure to line up the cuts in battery pack with the left & right edges in rear of charger. Then it will drop right in and also is nice and tight.

Misplaced my charger, and got sick of staring at a dead radio. Almost choked when I got the price from the dealer for a replacement. Ordered on Amazon. The charger is well made, and has performed flawlessly.
