Do not make the mistake like I did and try to use screwdrivers or a drift to open the tank, I had one slip and punctured a hole in my tank! (plastic)Buy the proper tool for the job, this is well built and makes this job far easier than alternatives.

Well worth the investment even thought I personally think it is overpriced. It simply makes your life easier, and helps prevent a smashed thumb or worse yet, an explosion that a spark could cause. (Don't hammer on your gas tank unless it is completely empty, dry, and fumeless.) If you don't feel safe dropping a lit match near your gas tank, then you need to get this tool. It is made specifically so you can easily remove your gas tank ring and won't have to resort to risking sparks with a hammer and chisel or screwdriver. Safety first, Right??

Good tool very well built, BUT!!!! It will not fit vehicle's with smaller lock rings, I have a 05 impala, tooltoo big to fit, so be careful to check the size of lock ring vs tool!
