My husband bought his late grandfather's old 1999 XJ and we have slowly been restoring it. This was an item we had to replace and this replacement worked great. It was easy to install after watching a short youtube video.

This fan is a direct fit for a 2001 Wrangler. HOWEVER, watch carefully the contact tabs when plugging in. These are very thin and easy to bend out of place. I did not check them prior to 1st install, however, it was painfully obvious something was amiss when I got everything buttoned up, and tried the fan with nothing but disappointment. After around an hour of playing with the plug with everything installed and my enormous hands in a tight place, I finally tore everything back apart, pulled the fan, saw the tabs bent and did my best to get them straight enough. It took a few tries, but I finally got it properly plugged up, then put it all back together again. It does work good, most of the time, but at times pulls down low like something is pulling a huge draw on my battery, but the guage is fine. I turn it off, then back on and it works again. The switch, resistor, and now fan are all new. It is my assumption the fan isn't 100% due to the occasional fit it throws.

I received inbox/item whereas the box showed where an original mailing label had been cut away and attached a new mailing label to me. Once I opened the box, the item was dusty with prior installation marks at mounting points! My order description was for a new item not reused or refurbished! Disappointed!!!!
