Wire Separator
This line splitter is an auxiliary tol for clamp ammeter (herelimafter referred to as clamp meter). Generlly the Power cable of electrical equipment is insulating sheath. Where are many root cricuit conductor(such as phase wire, zero wire and ground wire). Olay the clmap one of wires can obtain accurate current value when use Clamp meter to measure current. If clamp the sheathed Power cable directiy, it can not obtain the real loop current .That is due to the inside conductor will cancel each other out or stack cuased by different direction of current. The inside structure of line splitter will separate the wires into single through measurement window, and take the 10 times currentto measurement window. In that way, you can measure the single conductor inside the sheathed Power cable accurately and conveniently without destroy the Clamp meter with sheathed Power cable.
Operete steps:
1. Insert the plug of thedevice under test into the jack of the line splitter, plug the AC line splitter into the receptacle.
2. Power on the device under test, close the Clamp-on jaws around either the X1 arm of the AC line splitter to obtain the actual current.
3. If the current is too smail to read,use the X10 positin,divide the meter reading by 10 to obtain the actual current.
4 .When measuring voltage,insert the multimeter test leads into the two Voltage Test jacks.

Simply makes life easier when using a clamp multimeter. Amperage is easy peasy and so is voltage with this addition.

This is a nice AC Line Splitter - works well with my clamp meter and readings are spot on for x's 1 and x's 10 readings as verified by other meters that I utilize. This is one of the more affordable Line Splitters on the market and does exactly what it is supposed to do, split neutral, hot and ground so that you can get accurate amperage draw readings.This unit also has some port holes so that you can measure AC voltage as well via test meter probes.All in all, exactly what I wanted for its intended purposes and a great value!

Better I made my own split, this is large and awkward, but that is how all these things are. It works, seems sturdy, at the time it was the best price and I needed a double.

Unless you terribly abuse it it should last many years. If you do do something to damage it you're going to have bigger problems than a broken amp tap. A simple tool that works as advertised.

It seems to be about as thick and sheer as it needs to be to get the job done. This is a line splitter and that is what it does. It is orange. Nothing missing, nothing extra.Just make sure this is what you really want. You can measure electric currents easily with most smartplugs, so only get one of these if you’re planning to use a clamp meter.

One of the great abilities of the clamp multimeters is the ability to see how much current your devices are consuming, especially as more of us go solar. This device makes that possible by isolating the two wires so you don't have to do any cutting. Just plug your device into this and take your reading in the 1x OR 10x loop (for greater accuracy on tiny current). This device was affordable and works as advertised.
