Sucks! It lasted five months. What else can I say. Then I tried to reach out to the company and I can’t find any link to complain. Unless they replace it I cannot and will not remove this review.I wasted $80. If you see this review I recommend you find another product and avoid this one. More cheap Chinese junk.

This item works great! I used some fence posts from tractor supply that have clips on them and used insulators to keep it off anything so it would ground out. I used a 4’ ground rod instead of the ones it came with. Easy install. And worked right off the bat! I was having trouble with my dogs staying in the yard. Every day they would find a new way to get out. Now they won’t hardly go near the fence. For the ones that are saying it doesn’t work, I believe they have it grounded out in multiple places. This thing picks a punch if done correctly!

This thing only lasted a month. Worked well when it worked. Had it in the case mounted on a post. Never rained on but I’m guessing moisture got into it.

We bought this to keep our dogs in the yard. In the fence area, and it has worked so well.

Worked great for 2 days, now unit doesn't power up. Have power at electrical plug but the unit doesn't respond. Waste of money in my opinion

This energizer has many good features, but unfortunately several drawbacks, so you'll have to weigh these in deciding whether to purchase this or not. I think the pluses barely outweigh the one glaring negative.I liked the fact that it comes with a substantial see through plastic case that you mount and keep the energizer in while in use. I'm not so much concerned with weather protection as protection from curious animals, because I usually have animals on both sides of the electrified fence. The case has a latch that animals probably can't operate but that can be opened without tools. There are two clearly visible small lights to indicate when the power is on and when the fence pulses are operating. This is not always the case with small, inexpensive energizers, but they are very useful.I like that this energizer comes with its own grounding rod. The energizer will not operate without one, but most do not come with one. That's one less component for me to locate. I also tend to leave grounding rods in place in the ground at frequently used sites when I move temporary fencing and the energizer to another location, so this is one extra to use for that purpose. The biggest drawback is also common to many small, inexpensive energizers. The ground wire and live wire are equipped with the smallest alligator clips commonly available. While these clips can be attached to a bare wire or strand of polywire, there's no way it will clamp onto the provided grounding rod. It amazes me that a manufacturer would provide necessary components that simply will not fit. Because the wire connectors to the energizers are specific plug-in fittings, it's not easy to adapt by swapping out another set of leads. You can either wrap wire around the top of the ground rod, leaving enough tail for the alligator clip to grab, or you can cut the alligator clip off and attach a much bigger conductive clamp. This just shouldn't be necessary.
