It’s Rubbery but not real rubber. More like a poly rubber. Not sure how long it lasts.

I installed this on my 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 DOHC over the passenger side inner tie rod ball joint. I had to fight with to get it over the steering rack and install the plastic tie wrap but I did get on the car.
