What the $720 Samsung Chromebook Touchscreen Laptop with a 14-inch Screen once promised, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 actually delivers, except that the Samsung is thinner and lighter. I bought this Chromebook after buying two Samsung Chromebooks in the $700-$800 range over the past four years. I was looking for a laptop that would allow me to work for hours without having to plug it in, reasonably light and portable, with a touchscreen and backlit keyboard and a good screen with sharp images to watch movies and videos. The Acer has all these, plus more USB and other ports, making this laptop a good workstation to be plugged into projectors and other devices to display content during meetings and events.Therefore, this laptop is everything I had hoped the Samsungs would be, except the Samsungs had so many bugs that they never functioned as promised.I have only had this Chromebook for about a month, so I cannot speak to its performance over the long term, but I can vouch for the fact that it is reliable so far. The keyboard has a good feel, making writing on it a pleasure. This helpful laptop is a trouble-free tool for the work I have to do and great for entertainment, which, in my case, is limited to videos, music, and movies. I am not a gamer, so I can't speak to that.
