Size: ACME 5/8"-8 Ti-Coated Trapezoidal Thread Taps.
Cutting Direction: Left Hand.
Material: High Speed Steel.
Easy to Use
It can be used with manual equipment or special processing consoles, such as tapping machines, drill-in-one bench drills, CNC lathes, machining centers, etc.
Control the speed according to the hardness of the material. The higher the hardness of the processed product, the slower the speed.
Recommended feed rate: General steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel: 5-10m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min.
Tips
1. Before tapping confirm whether the diameter of the round hole is appropriate, and to take protective measures when working.
2. When tapping, it is necessary to add water or coolant to cool down to prevent excessive temperature and reduce tap loss. If it encounters difficulty in rotation, the tapping should be suspended.
3. Be sure to select the appropriate cutting oil for the complex tapping process and apply anti-rust oil for maintenance after use.

If I'm lucky I'll never have to use this tap again. It was purchased to make a new cross slide nut for my lathe. I had to tap a 1-1/2" deep through hole through very tough aluminum bronze. The threads were clean and a close fit to the factory made Acme screw that I bought through an industrial supplier. The cross slide works like new. It holds dimensions very well because the threads of the hole and screw are a great fit.

Didnt know what to expect. Never used acme threads on any of my projects and couldn't find a local machine shop to do Acme threads. When it came in 5 days later from China I was really impressed. Nice clean heavy-duty, solid tool. To tell you the truth I haven't used it yet because I'm not at that point in this project right now. But! Now that I see it I'm sure it will work just fine for threading (4) 1" long pieces of 1" round stock.
