This review is an attempt to report my experience using Actiontec MywirellessTV. I have a RCA transmitter and could not find any HDMI transmitter here in Brazil, I decide to replace my RCA to a Digital HDMI device because it is too much interference susceptible.I had no difficult putting things to work, just follow the instructions and probably you will be able to see the image. My transmitter is about 4 meters (12 ft) from my receiver, with a wood panel and a refrigerator between then (or a wall, I don't know exactly where the signal is passing thru). The device came updated with the lastest firmware version available on site. The GoodThe image is perfectly. The sound is perfectly.IR extender works good. My kitchen TV has a IR extender as well, so I could hide the Actiontec behind the TV, use the TV IR Extension in addiction with Actiontec Receiver IR Extension and now I can use only the TV remote controller to control my cable in the other room.Resuming: now I have a HDMI image in my kitchen TV without any interference and controlling my cable device from the Kitchen. My old RCA device is interfered by people moving around the transmitter and even by the IR Extender usage, now everything is fine. The BadDELAY: I can notice a micro delay between the two TVs. The equipment has a configuration where it prioritizes quality or speed (Theater Mode or Game Mode) in attempt to reduce this delay. I put mine in Game Mode, it is faster and reduce the delay. I can still hear the delay, but I can live with that. I did not notice any quality losses with this configuration on my 32'' TV, maybe in larges TVs it is possible to see some difference.IR Extension: I tried different places to fixing the Transmitter IR extension before I can get it controlling my cable device. I ended up fixing it 4cm (1.5 inch) in front my cable device. I tried to glue it ON the device like suggested on the manual but it did not worked out.HDCP Cable Decode: HDCP is a content protection added to some cable decodes used to not allow content copy or, like me, to see the same image in tow TVs at the same time. I bought this device hoping that my cable device was HDCP free, but it is not (this is useful for Brazilians like me: my cable company is "NET", so everyone who has "NET" will face the same problem). Actiontec respects this HDCP and when I plug my room TV on Actiontec's HDMI output and turn on my Kitchen TV, the image is blocked in my room TV. To solve that, I had to buy a $16 HDMI Switch/Repeater to split/repeat one signal source into two signals: one for my room TV and the other to my Actiontec. So, I'm not using the Actiontec's HDMI output.FREEZES: I let the transmitter and the receiver turned on 100% of the time, but the TV is only turned on when I'm in the kitchen. Once it is working and showing the image, it works perfectly and uninterruptedly, but sometimes when I turn my Kitchen TV on, the device freezes on the first image showed (I would say every three times I turn my kitchen tv on, it freezes). The only way to de-freeze is to reboot the transmitter or the receiver (anyone of then). I don't know why it occurs and still did not figured a way to solve this freeze. Maybe the HDCP above? Any help? That's all for now, folks. I will update this review if anything changes.

I received the product in record time--just 18 hours from when I ordered it. But that isn't even the best part and I hope you will read on about my entire experience!About 2 months ago I bought a similar product, Nyrius Aries NAVS501. I was not thrilled with their user manual which was about useless. I also could never get their wimpy IR device to work. They did supply one HDMI cable but you really need 2--so I had to go out and buy one. The Nyrius items did not automatically pair either. While I did get Nyrius to work -the transmitter crapped out after 2 months. I searched the internet for information on similar problems with Nyrius and found plenty! But found few solutions and only one highly suspect video on You Tube done by a person who was given the Nyrius as a freebie to evaluate and it wasn't about troubleshooting. I sent an email for help and never heard back from them. So, I had to access their chat help line (which is only available during 8-5 weekdays and I am sure my boss wasn't thrilled to have me on the clock dealing with a personal TV issue). But, after 45 minutes of explaining and re-explaining by text I was able to convince them to let me return it to them for testing. If they find something wrong with it they will send me a new set. But, if nothing is wrong with it they will send it back as is. Or, I could have them send me a new one (in 7-10 business days) but I would have to pony up a $199 fee which would be refunded if something was wrong with the one I sent them (which might be returned in 14-28 business days after testing if nothing is wrong with it (but I assure there is!! ).Now, without a HDTV device, I started looking for a replacement. I searched and found this, also on Amazon. I am not sure that I saw this the first time I was looking but I have to say--this product is by far the superior in every way possible. First, the kit comes with 2 HDMI cables (Nyrius only supplies one); this has a color quick start guide (Nyrius has a black and white piece of useless paper); this system accepts multiple receivers (up to 4 in order to support 4 additional TV's) whereas Nyrius only pairs one transmitter and one receiver per HD device. There is a website prominently noted on the quick start guide which enables you not only to download a 33 page color user manual but also view various videos on how to do set ups, etc. so you can't mess up the setup. They even supplied a mini USB item with which to update the components using a thumb drive. This system comes as pre-paired set whereas Nyrius does not. This system also comes with a small remote to use to name the various sources and use for advanced functions and Nyrius definitely does not.Lastly, while most people won't be bothered by this, the Nyrius puts out a bright green light out the side vents which shows on the walls in the room where I sleep--and it would wake me up. This unit has no such Christmas light issues.I really wish I had seen this item the first time I looked. The price is better--the shipping is faster and the quality is much better. I will update this review if I need to. However, with all of the support, including a real phone number should I need it I feel that if I ever have problems that I will be taken care of.I sure hope Nyrius don't send me that broken Nyrius back but I don't really want a new replacement either! Either way I will give it to someone I don't like much--just to get it out of my house!Oh--the picture and sound are perfect and my room is now arranged the way I want it so I am no longer tied to the cable outlets!
