The remote control transmitter operates on (3) 1.5V AAA batteries and functions using a two button (On/Off) system that transmits a signal to the 110VAC receiver. The receiver will plug into the junction box inside your fireplace, while the two lead wires will connect to the TH & TH/TP terminals on the millivolt valve. The only modification I needed to make to have the remote work with my fireplace was to swap a female connector with a male collector for it to work. The remote came with female connectors on both leads to the gas valve.

This unit replaced original control on 25 year old gas logs fireplace. Delivered as advertised and installation was simple I would recommend this product

This works perfectly and does what it was intended to do. We did not want a programmable remote for our fireplace because we just turn it on when needed. We don't have severe winters so this is perfect for us.
