only uses 2 AA batteries for each item. works well. The minimum and maximum outside temperatures are more of a gimmick than useful, but those numbers are small enough to easily ignore.

This thermometer is a great way to know the highs and lows of the day and current outside temp Works well, only thing I have had issues with is the senors which will last approx. 2 years in a covered outdoors area. At that point you can purchase the sensor by itself. Then after I changed out the sensor the thermometer started working again.

This is a replacement for the two system that I got two and a half years age. It was addictive to me to have them! I love rolling over in bed to see what I want to wear that day. I love when I am downstairs on the first floor and I can see what the room temperature is. If I am cold and I look over and see that it is it’s normal temperature, I know it is just me who is cold.I missed them and constantly bugged my boy

This is my 3rd AcuRite indoor/outdoor thermometer. Accuracy is great and lets you know outside weather when you are in the house. Easy to hang up (but outdoors, not in a spot that will be in sun). I open my windows (early AM) in summer and can easily see outside temps to know when to close windows for maximum effect. They last a long time.

Our old one had a light in it making it easier to read plus showed humidity, etc. This one only shows temp.

Good basic weather station. last one from the USA has lasted 4 years & that only went wrong on the outside piece of equipment. Kept both going on the new one

CHANGED RATING FROM. 1 star to 5The indoor temperature on the console works fine, but the outdoor remote updates only once then stays that way. I tried everything: new batteries, resetting it, keeping the remote close to the console (the remote on the outside of a window with the console only a couple feet away).I am sure this is just a bad device. I would like a refund or replacement please.UPDATEMy replacement unit works great. I have the remote sensor in the garage and my receiver upstairs on the opposite side of the house. Original unit was defective but I am pleased with this device now.UPDATE 2Still works flawlessly after having it in a freezing garage last winter and out in the garden unprotected except by tomato plants all summer and into fall. Now back in an unheated garage for the winter. Very happy with this thermometer.

I originally bought an AcuRite 822-RX from Home Depot and had it working nicely for about 3 and half years. I have pictures of when it got to 90 degrees outside as the max and 28 degrees as the min. It stopped working properly with the outside temperature changing to three dashes and even when I replaced the batteries, it kept resetting it's max and min temps to my frustration. So I thought I would order another one here on Amazon. I noticed the photo was of the same model but the model number had changed and thought that they had made an update internally but kept the same external frame. Well, when I got my order, I noticed it was much different but thought it will be okay as it still had the outdoor/indoor temps as well as the outdoor max and min temp display. I went to use it yesterday and the temperature didn't change so I changed the batteries and it then worked and showed that the outdoor temp max was 65 and the min was 41 which was correct. Tonight the outdoor temp wouldn't budge from 65 degrees. I checked it at 5pm and it was showing 65 degrees which was correct but at 10:45pm, I checked and it is still showing 65 degrees even thought it is more like around 53 degrees outside. I took the batteries out and going to throw the unit out and go back to Home Depot to find one hopefully similar to what I originally had that worked so well. So do not buy this model as it doesn't work!
