Remote module heats up and will stop working if plugged in all the time. Module cannot be left plugged in. Use only when you are outside for the evening. Do not leave the module powered on overnight.

Easy to install. Must have bc it comes with a remote which you can be standing, I believe, it was up to 60ft away from it to work. 4 different preset dimmer settings 25% - 100%. My favorite is that it has buttons for auto shut-off too.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!Second UPDATE...So the remote stopped working and I got ZERO satisfaction from customer service. They claimed 3 times that they were sending a replacement and I got nothing. As I had calculated the length of the cords as part of my sytem, I was plugging/unplugging when I wanted to use the lights.That was until last weekend when the controller box got super hot, started smoking, and completely melted (see photos). What a POS product...less than 1 year old.If you don't want to risk burning down your house, then do not buy this product.========================================================================UPDATE...I did get reasonable customer service and recieved a replacement unit fairly quickly. The new unit did work for more than 5 minutes...BUT...it died after 5 months. The dimmer will not work at all...no on...no off...no nothing. Now I'm only able to plug/un-plug my lights directly from the outlet.AND...there is no contact info for the vendor on the Addlon page. I have no way to claim a warranty replacement of any type. Very sad that this has not worked out well at all.=============================================================================It was easy to install…I bought it for a 48-foot-long set of Addlon outdoor cafe lights.BUT…it stopped working after 5 minutes. The unit will not stay on. Hit the green button and the lights flash on for a moment, then off again. Might be good if you’re on a deserted island trying to signal a search plane.I contacted Addlon directly, as noted in all of the scant litterateur that comes in the box. Their customer service has been very sketchy. Email only and promises of a replacement unit without actually delivering one.I’m going to have to file a claim through Amazon to get a replacement. Hopefully the second unit will work for at least 10 minutes.

Unfortunately the dimmer didn't not work the way i expected. It only has one option and that is to dim the bulbs to 30%... i tried to use 75% and 100% to get it back to the brightness before, however it didnt work. I contacted the supplier directly to understand the issue but they were very unhelpful.Unfortunately I could not return the item has I called in an electrician to fix this on the wall for me, hence it was modified.

I purchased the lights that go with this dimmer. They were really bright, so I bought this dimmer. It works perfectly. The lights are plugged in all the time. With the clicker, I can turn the lights off and on, schedule them for certain hours and lower the brightness either with preset brightness or graduated setting all from the convenience of inside my home! If you get the lights, get the dimmer.

We copied the idea of cafe lights from our neighbors. But we bested them with this handy dimmer/timer remote. Installation was a breeze. You just plug the string of lights into the "receiver" and plug the receiver into the wall socket outside. The tiny remote, with battery included, allows you to turn the lights on and off, manually dim and lower the lights, or even selected a preferred brightness, including 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% brightness. Awesome for setting the mood at your backyard soiree. You can even set them on a timer for 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours. We haven't tried that yet, but it seems like a nice bonus. I was particularly impressed by the reach of the remote. The lights are in our backyard, but I was able to turn them on and off with the remote from inside our house with the windows closed. That surprised me. I can't speak to the durability of the product, since we just got it. But so far it's filling the bill--and I think we sold our neighbors on getting their own dimmer added to THEIR cafe lights.

We have two sets of 25 ft cafe string lights connected to this dimmer -- love the remote and ability to change the brightness from 100%/75%/50%/25% and off/on - easy to install and use. Very happy with this set up in our back yard. Nice touch to be able to lower the lights after dinner. The 4 levels of light are distinct and obvious, the remote has one inconvenience -- it's small and easy to lose. It doesn't have a loop or carry bag/clip to hook or hang it. We have ewassigned a small pouch with drawstrings so it can be hung up and accessible. A minor thing, but the lights will not work with the cord without the remote (there's no controls on the cord unit.
