Speed control at last! I have had this old 110 volt blower for 35 years or more! It has been an old friend keeping air moving in every shop I have ever had. The only gripe I have ever had is it only knows full blast! It is now in my garage and sometimes full blast is a bit too much for this space. Using this controller I can reduce it from full on to something less! I won't run it on a low speed for fear of over heating and burning up my old friend but reducing it to 3/4 speed or so will be nice!

I tried this on my 4.5" Milwaukee angle grinder with an 8.5amp rating. The box won't even run the grinder below 50 percent on the dial. Maybe a grinder closer to the 15amp rating would have a different result but I doubt it since if it can't run a smaller grinder at the lower setting, it would seem a more powerful grinder would be even worse. As for controlling the speed, it takes very slight movements of the dial otherwise you blow right through the very narrow adjustment range and end up at full speed way before you get anywhere near 100 percent. It takes a very light touch. So, it does work and it will run the blade at a much slower speed. It seems overpriced at 25 bucks.

I wanted something that would let me control the speed on my old angle grinder, so I thought I would give this a try. Excellent choice. This speed controller is well made out of good quality materials. Fit and finish are very good. Super easy to use -- just plug the controller in, and plug your tool into the speed controller. Works very well. Very helpful when doing fine work. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

This is for the Review of Adjustable 4000W AC Motor Speed Controller for Angle Grinder, Electric Drill, Polishing Machine & Fan - 110V, Variable Speed Control with Overload Protection, Voltage LED DisplayAt the time of Reviewing this its priced at 24.48$ with a 5% discount applied in the cart .This has very very very bad fine control . i wanted to use this to slower the speed on a room to room fan that i want to put thur the wall but it only turns the fan on at 50-60% on the knob . and its 0 then in a few more % 50% then nothing happens till i turn the knob to 100% for max speed on the fan .Also has 0 weight like its empty inside so im very iffy leaving this running for hours and hours unattended .i don't recommend this item

Let me preface this review with this statement; "I do NOT order items that I do not fully intend to use myself. I sometimes use these items in ways other than perhaps the manufacture would recommend but I always try to review the item to reflect its value, craftsmanship and useability. I also do NOT do "unboxing" type reviews, I instead opt to put the item in use and review AFTER it has either proven itself or failed." That all said, let's get into it.This is in use to control a vent fan in my fiberglass curing enclosure. As humidity and temp have to be in balance I needed a good fan control that was easy to use and accurate with the control of the fan. This little box fills that bill to a "T". Odd bonus with this even. I thought having a readout was a bit unnecessary overkill until I figured out that having a record of the voltage at a given temp setting equated to having a settings table for quick setup the next cycle, bonus. This little unit functions like a much more expensive control.IF I had to "find" anything negative about the control......I wish the housing were metal rather than plastic, things get dropped, it just happens And that is a "wish" only, just be a bit careful and all is good.Bottom line; for the money......it's hard to beat for what it can do. I recommend it.

Works great for what it is. Easy to use, just plug the device into it. It's a well made piece. The speed control is not perfect, but if you're like me, you're plugging in various devices that weren't really intended to be controlled like that. But, it works, and is definitely worth the money.

Most modern tools have evolved to the point where most have built in speed controllers. I have some that don’t. I got this to add speed control for a Craftsman router motor that had been in my lift and a Hitachi angle grinder that was difficult to manage with aggressive shaping disks. In addition to my main objective, I tried the speed controller with several other tools because why not. Here is what worked and what didn’t:Hitachi angle grinder 11000rpm 3/4 hp (G120SS) works greatCraftsman 1-3/4 hp 25000 rpm router motor (320.17541 Chevron made in 2000s) - inconsistent speed as capacitor charges and discharges. Basically not useful.Crafftsman 1-1/4 hp 25000 rpm (315.17480 Ryobi from 1970s) - works great, slowed to about 5000 rpm with 50% powerBlack and Decker jig saw (7662, I borrowed it and did not return) - works greatCraftsman buffer/polisher (646.1069902 don’t know maker, it’s old) - works greatBottom line- Older, lower power, and cheaper tools are more likely to work is better. It appears that newer and more expensive tools do not work with this speed controller. Keep in mind that when the grinder and router worked, they slowed down but they also lost power. Fortunately for me, my angle grinder problems are solved but it looks like my Bosch 1617 is still going to live in my router lift a while longer.

I've got a 14" cutoff saw that is meant to use abrasive discs, so it runs faster than a saw meant for metal cutting saw blades. This speed controller allows me to turn the speed down so I don't completely destroy my blade. Works great!
