The stand comes with U bolts that are meant to run parallel with the tongue instead of across it to hold it in place. I had to drill holes to make it work properly. While I wad at it I used 3/8 Ubolts instead of the 1/4 or 5/16 that came with it. You also cant rotate the stand because the tube is rectangle. It would put the pulley facing to the side. They could've worked if a bottom plate was also included so something would go across the tongue. I'd recommend getting one that costs more and is stronger. I'll definitely have to strap the front of my boat down over the road and possibly make more support. Amazon is having issues uploading or I would show you the issues

We purchased my son an old 1974 Crestliner boat, and someone had welded on the old winch stand backwards...(face palm) We have no idea how or why they would do something like that, but this trailer winch stand was the perfect replacement after we got the old one off. This trailer winch stand is perfect because it allows adjustable height for smaller boats such as our 74 Crestliner.It comes with all the equipment that is needed and provides a secure mounting point while the boat is in transit.I cannot recommend this enough to anyone who needs a new winch stand to secure their boat to a trailer.

Not robust enough for a large or heavy boat - which the listing makes no mention of a load or design capacity of. My application is for a very light boat (less than 300 lbs.) and I just need a mount to get the winch level with the attachment point on the boat to help me pull it onto the trailer. The trailer will most likely never be placed on the road so this mount most likely will never be stressed. The construction appears adequate but the powder coating hides the ground-down welds on the sides of the tubing - I think I can see several cracks in those welds but the coating makes it difficult to assess the severity. Again - this is fit for my purpose. I would not recommend this for over-the-road use with anything more than a light rowboat.
