Everything at the big box stores was plastic and cheap looking. This doorbell is all metal and has an intricate design. Much nicer, and it is a detail at the front door that elevates the entry from the yellowed plastic that was there before.

I love this doorbell but unfortunately I didn’t install it. My old doorbell was flush against the wall and this requires a small hole for proper installation which I wasn’t aware of. Still a wonderful look and I’ll keep it for a future home maybe.

The doorbell came quickly and looked exactly as pictured. It took some doing to install as I had a different installation type on my previous one. A metal disk inside ( for completing the circuit when the button is pushed) was secured with glue and and came off when I was putting the doorbell back together after attaching the wiring

This doorbell is attractive and has some quality components but is already rusting in two weeks. I'm not going to replace it because we had an electrician install it. I'm hoping some Rust-Oleum will stop it.
