Installation Steps
Position and Mark

I ordered this Adowes Medieval Sword Holder Display Wall Mount, Bull Head Sword Hanger, Cast Iron, Antique Gold, 1 Pack heavy cast iron sword holder for my teenage son; I gave him a sword to mark his sixteenth birthday as a rite of passage into manhood, and we’ve been looking for a good way to hang it in his room.This bull shaped holder is made from cast iron; it has an old gold finish and a sort of antiquities vibe. It comes with hardware for mounting; my husband popped it on the wall in a few minutes. It’s quite heavy, weighing over a pound, and it’s designed to hold up to forty pounds of weight.My husband pointed out that this holder is designed only for swords with a crosspiece, for example, it would not hold his katana. Since my son’s sword (he named it Notung, after the sword in the Ring Cycle; he’s studying opera) has a crosspiece, it works just fine.I like the rubber guards on the bull horns, designed to cushion the sword. The holder measures about 3 1/2” long x 3” high x 3” wide; while it’s designed for swords and weapons, you could easily use it for coats or towels, too.This is very well made and sturdy; at the current price ($14.99), I think it’s an excellent bargain. For under $15, you not only get a sword holder, you get a nicely designed piece that has a lot of charm; I love the bull design.

I Used this hold up a Medieval Mace. and it does a great job at it! its very sturdy and looks amazing. no assembly just unpack and mount your weapon. I will be getting a few more for these. Because they look great on my wall.

My teen son is at the start of his sword collecting so this holder is pretty cool. He liked how solid and nice quality this holder felt. It seems to be the right size and strong enough for a heavy sword as long as it is installed properly.

This sword holder seems to be well made, and will probably last longer than the rest of my life will, lol. It comes with two anchors and two screws for installing it, and a sort of soft rubber pad that is meant to go between the bull's horns on it's forehead. It doesn't HAVE to be placed there of course. It's just to add protection for whatever it is that you decide to hang on it. It also has some soft rubber padding on each of the two horns. But if you don't like it, or you decide that you don't need it, then it can be easily removed.As far as it's price goes, I would say that it is a fair price. Especially considering that, at the time of this review, I couldn't really find anything quite like it to compare it to. Anyway, it looks great! And I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for something like this.

The bull hanger itself looks really nice. Of course once you hang a sword on it, you can't see the bull any more, only the horns, which looks a little weird. I tried to use this for my Medieval type sword, but the blade is wide enough that it barely fits and the horns make it sit at angle with the point of the blade sticking out from the wall. I think the horns angle up too much for my sword at least to hang straight. It may be great for other applications than what I have.

Comes with 1" screws with inserts. The mounting holes in the ears, center to center, are 3" apart, removing the possibility of mounting in a wall stud with both screws. The holder is meant for blades that are no more than 2" wide at the hilt. Heavy solid construction will not bend or break with larger swords or other weapons hanging off of it.

These are absolutely lovely!! I know they’re meant to be a rack for guitars or weapons, but I got them because they look like Minoan bulls, so I want to use them as part of my general home decor. My plan is to mount them on a stained wood base and place them with other Ancient Greek-esque items. Value wise, absolutely worth the price. They’re extremely heavy and really well made. Size-wise, they are a little smaller than I expected, but personally, I’m okay with that. Even if you were using them to hang an instrument or as a weapon/sword rack, they are a good size for it, so they’d serve that function well. The instructions are very easy to follow, even though I don’t plan to use them that way. And they come with the necessary hardware to attach them to your wall. Please keep in mind that if you do attach them to your wall, though, make sure you’ve got them anchored into a stud or something equally secure because, again, they are heavy! I don’t think just screwing them into drywall would work well; seems like they’d pull out too easy, and they’d do some damage if they fell on someone or something.
