It picks up a good signal, even my weakest channels. The program guide has filled out the info on all channels except the 2 weakest channels. But all of them I care about has a good program guide and that is why I ordered this dongle. My tv brings in all the channels (Google TV) but it's only a channel list. I have a zapperbox, which is good, but I have to use 2 different remotes. I like the program guide because at 10 in the morning I can check to see what's on at 7 at night. My only disappointment is apparently no way to block channels or setup favorites. I bring in 51 channels but only pay attention to 33 of them. I know it's not many still....

The nation's broadcasters feel that encrypting your free over the air TV signals is good for the country. We consumers know that it isn't. This encryption has taken what should have been an amazing new broadcast TV technology and turned it into a complicated mess that has restricted the market for new tuning devices. Their poorly designed encryption algorithm means this tuner can only work on a compatible Android device. Roku, Apple TV, Xboxes, PCs et. al. are all not compatible and never will be.This device, when connected to a compatible android device will allow you to tune those signals, including those that are encrypted - that is if your host device is connected to the Internet. Older ATSC 1.0 channels and unencrypted 3.0 channels work without the Internet.I tested the ADTH USB stick on four devices: A fire TV stick 4k Max, an Onn Google TV stick, an Onn 4k Pro Streaming box, and an Nvidia shield. Of these only ONE, the Onn 4k Pro, could decrypt and play the encrypted content. The Fire TV Stick reported DRM errors. The Onn stick and the Nvidia shield would play audio but had a frozen picture on DRM channels.Further complicating the compatibility issue, and something that wasn't mentioned in the product description, is that if your host Android device doesn't support AC-4 audio you won't get any sound. Does your device support it? Who knows! Few manufacturers list that compatibility in their product specs. All that said if your device does work with it the tuner works as advertised. But it costs far more than similar devices do that don't support encryption. And because of DRM restrictions you'll need to get one of these for every TV in the house and run antenna cables to it. That's because broadcasters banned the use of home gateway devices that would use a single connection and stream over your home network. All in this device is another example of the self inflicted destruction of the broadcast TV industry. It most likely won't work on your older TV or streaming device. Good luck!

A near perfect idea. I ding it two stars because a key feature is missing; the remote control. App dependency means very few elderly will use this half-developed converter [box] stick. Even so, many young-gen will not like it either. As a professional antenna installer who's helped thousands, phones and TVs must remain independent of one another.Google Chromecast was a failure because they learned this all too late. Tablo, the DVR for OTA also finally realized this for those who don't own Roku players. And Roku, they knew from the beginning that remote controls are priority, only adding the phone app as an option, not a requirement. The whole idea of watching TV is to untether from your phone. To simply turn the TV on, sit back, and immediately watch something by default. Whenever manufacturers—Smart TV tech too—whenever they add too many bells-and-whistles, default to library-style initial home screens, or require phone interactions, that's when they fail.So for everyone considering this device, just know, your phone, the very thing you are trying to escape, will still be in your hands while using this device. That may be fine for some, but it's a major consideration for others.

Limited functionality on my Nvidia Shield Pro (2019). I'm only able to access atsc 1.0 channels. None of NextGen channels work for me. Based in Miami, FL.

I thought the dongle ran really well on my Fire Cube, but I don't think the reception was quite as good as it is directly on my television. The NextGen TV signal works just fine and I don't have issues when it comes to the DRM encryption. :-)

This item does not work. I downloaded the ADTH TV app on FireTV apps followed the instructions on the tiny bit of paper that was provided as instructions. Nothing. I searched the web to see if I was doing anything wrong, and it seems others are having problems with this dongle. $70 wasted, not happy!

I have it connected to the Onn Streaming Device 4k Pro. I am able to view 3.0 encrypted content in the Chicago area without any issues so far. It would be nice if there was a way to filter out channels and set favorites. Hopefully that will come in a firmware update later.
