For about half the price of the brand name range finders, this seems pretty good. It looked slippery at first, but now it doesn’t seem easy to drop, comes with a strap and it has texture on the end near the laser/lensIt seems pretty accurate, but sometimes it’s wildly off on white objects. 9/10 times it’s correct, but that one time it’ll be 30 yards or so off. Not a huge deal since it’s so obvious (and I made sure there were no leaves or anything in the way causing a false reading). The vast array of modes take some getting used to, and 2 of them seem superfluous. Standard mode is easy and comes with a “scan” feature to track moving objects. Hunting mode (with the angle activated) gives you distance as the crow flies, angle, and the hypotenuse distance. Speed mode gives you the speed of things as they move toward/away from you, but not any other direction. Vertical mode is like hunting mode, but also gives you the relative height of the target too. Horizontal mode doesn’t make sense to me, so I can’t really speak on that. The angle mode (switch on the side) works only with hunting mode and it seems kinda silly that it’s even an option to turn on/off. Like most people, I just want to know the distance to an object, not all this extra nonsense. But, most range finders have these features so I can’t be too hard on this one for trying to keep up.Im not sure if it charges since the light doesn’t turn red or green when I plug it in. And I haven’t used it enough to drain the battery, but it says it’s good for up to 10000 scans. It seems a little too light, doesn’t have that heft to it that would make it seem “high quality”. Purely a caveman-brain observation but it makes me think it won’t last forever.Overall, I’d say it’s a good starter rangefinder, but if it eventually does die after only one charge then it’s a pile of garbage since you can’t replace the batteries. Everything seems to be rechargeable these days, but that’s not always good. I’d like to just keep a spare battery in my pack and not have to worry about keeping it charged.

REVIEW OF THE SPYDDA ADVANCED HUNTING RANGEFINDERI am not a hunter but I find many uses for this product. For example, if I am on a hike I can determine how much further to a particular location. If I am archery shooting, I can identify the distance to a target. I am naturally curious and always wondering, “just how far away is that object?” Now I know (at least up to 1200 yards – the maximum stated distance for the rangefinder.)The unit comes packaged in a product box with zippered clam-shell grey case and the rangefinder inside. The case is rugged enough to protect the rangefinder and the case has a loop so it can be carried on your belt - or on your wrist with the lanyard which is supplied. The unit itself is lightweight but powerful and versatile.I also like that the unit is simple to operate. There is one button on the top of the rangefinder to turn the unit on or off, and there is an adjacent button to switch between meters and yards. The eyepiece is adjustable to your vision and once it is set the eyepiece doesn’t need to be readjusted. However, the adjustable feature provides an option that allows other people to use the unit by readjusting the optic to their visual requirements. The manufacturer claims the rangefinder will magnify an object 7 times. I can’t tell you that the magnification is exactly 7 times but I can state that the object is nicely magnified and that even distant objects are easier to recognize in detail. The LCD display is bright and contains a great deal of helpful information to include distance (meters or yards), speed (if an object is traveling), measurement of slope angles, and mode indicator. You simply sight an object and then briefly press the on/off button. The display will give you a pinpoint sighting ring and display the distance to the object. This pinpoint accuracy is particularly helpful when there are other objects around (nearby trees, rocks, etc.) that might otherwise interfere with the precise measurement of the target.I have used the rangefinder quite a few times since I originally charged it and I have yet to recharge the unit. There is a warning light in the unit’s visual screen that tells you when the battery is low so you don’t unexpectedly run out of battery power. I have not taken the rangefinder out in the elements (rain, etc.) but it is self-contained and I believe it will stand up to difficult weather. There are other rangefinders on the market of varying prices and features. However, when you compare the features that this unit provides for the price, I think it is a very competitive purchase. Given all factors, I think this unit is worth 5-stars.

This is nice for spotting things in our small wooded area. I like the easy way it does the job, it's techy but not overwhelming. Great for spotting woodland creatures. Sees well, too. I have also been able to use a phone attachment on it to see things more clearly to my eye as well as to take photos. Nice product and well made.
