I have a slider again. The hardest part of the removal of the old, broken slider and installation of the new one was setting the rivet. I did not have a rivet gun or the right size punch or the right size ball peen hammer, so I had to fake it. Still was able to set the rivet.

This item is awesome and priced well below any other on the internet or Amazon. Did the job perfectly. For those asking, I tried to circle what the part is and where it goes on the awning rail, so you have a visual. My husband did have to use a hammer and other tool to get the old rivet out, but that was the hardest part. Took about ten minutes total to install. Much better than spending $50+ other places. Definitely worth the purchase and would recommend to anyone needing this part for their awning!!

Wish they cams with two rivets.I'm new to RV'ing and thought I had it correct. My Awning had failed and is why I ordered this piece.Thought it was good but when it wouldn't lock in I realized it was upside down :/ Rivets leave no room for error, although it's easy enough to do. Therefore two rivets would be better or a better quality fastener .I bought two, so wasn't stuck getting the job done

When I was installing a new awning the slider seem started twisting and basically broke. So I had to get one quick as we were leaving for camping in like a week or so this summer. This got here super quick. It was a bit of a challenge to install, no fault of the product, but mine. One of those typical, if I would have known now what I known when I started projects. First I put it in backwards. Then it was getting dark out and I was doing it alone. Once I got it on there the correct way, worked like a charm.

Installed this yesterday, was easy as 1 2 3 , I used a Stainless steel bolt instead of the rivet , took about 20 minutes

I bought this here to replace my broken slider after reading some reviews online commenting on how hard it is to install these without a ‘special tool’ for the rivet. I figured that it’s an open-ended aluminum rivet and I have easy access to both sides, so how hard could it be? Answer is, it’s not if you don't overthink it. It took longer to drill the old pin out than it did to install the new one. That ‘special tool’ simply flares then flattens the open end of the rivet, and pretty much anything with a suitable point (say a centre punch or a nail) hit with a hammer while the other end is resting against something solid will flare the end. That same hammer will take care of the flattening part, and that solid thing could be a vice or even the top of the ball of your trailer hitch. If you really don’t want to fiddle with it, a $0.50 1" Chicago screw from your local hardware store will do the same thing, although you may have to enlarge the holes a bit.

Fit perfectly! Was just what I needed. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't fit my awning because I couldn't find the info on my awning. All I knew was that it was made by this brand. I'm not sure if I just got lucky or this part is universal. Either way, it worked. I had to drill out the rivot from the old broken slider so that I could put the new part on the extender arm. Then, the new part went on perfectly. You will need a way to install the new rivot (which I wasn't prepared for), but I recruited some help getting the rivot in and the rest was super easy! I'm so excited that I can use my awning again!

While packing up camp to go home, one of our slider assemblies broke and needed replacement. I found the exact one needed for my awning and ordered it. Arrived quickly and had no specific instructions with it (as most reviews stated). Not a problem, since there are many videos on internet that show how to replace it. Used a nailset punch to start spreading the rivet against a bench vise, then flattened the head with a hammer. Not difficult if you take your time and keep an eye on your progress. There are 2 square drive screws in the awning arm that must be removed to pull inner arm out. Product was an exact fit. Not a bad idea to keep a spare on on hand in case one breaks while camping.
