  • Estimated horsepower gain of 8.4 HP at 7300 RPM
  • All AEM Air Intakes come with a lifetime DRYFLOW Synthetic air filter with great filtration
  • Guaranteed for the life of your car or truck

AEM Air Intake Systems are designed to produce massive horsepower and torque gains as well as better engine sound when used as a replacement for the factory airbox and air filter. AEM intake systems are designed, tuned, and dyno-tested to fit specific cars and trucks. These air intakes usually include an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration, and performance while allowing easy oil-free cleaning. Most AEM intake systems use mandrel-bent aluminum intake tubes, powder coated heat shields, and high quality hardware designed to reduce restriction and reduce intake temperature. The design and components of each intake system vary so consult the installation instructions for more information on the contents of each part number. AEM manufactures a variety of intake kit styles including short ram intakes, cold air intakes, dual-chamber intakes, Brute Force intakes for trucks and SUV's, and Brute Force HD intakes for diesel applications.

Nice sound, a little pricey, great for weight reduction and more engine bay space.

Amazing CAI. Although no increase in speed and I have yet to find an increase in mpg, this thing makes a mean sound.Easy installation, shipped asap, and I highly recommend this over any other CAI for the RX8.

Great intake for your Rx8 makes a great noise too. The front bumper has to come off so make sure you have space and time to install this CAI. Seller shipped item fast!

The AEM CAI for the Mazda RX-8 is effectively a rebrand from the original MazdaSpeed CAI for the car. Whether or not MS came after AEM or not, the two intakes are the same, and I'm pretty sure you'd be spending a whole lot more than this bargain just for a MazdaSpeed name.Installation is pretty straightforward, although I do recommend pulling up an installation guide from the internet to accompany the instructions that come with the package - they can be a little chaotic at times. As others have said, you will need to take off the front bumper and crash bar(and put them back on of course), and remove the old VFAD(Variable Fresh Air Duct) in the installation process. Everything fits nicely once you get the right couplers and pieces where they belong. Be very careful with the screens upon installation, you need them in order for the airflow on your MAF sensor to read and adjust correctly, and it's easy to dislodge or bend them if you're not cautious with their installation. As for the actual performance, I can't tell that this intake made any difference other than lowering my intake temps, but the sound is gutteral, low, and growling. It sounds fantastic at full throttle. It's the first thing you'll notice when you open it up for the first time and it will slam a smile onto your face. Don't expect more than a couple HP out of this, nothing you can detect without tuning.

Bought this for my 2005 Mazda Rx8, Its the best price around for what you're looking for and it definitely was a great addition, if you want the best for the least then this what you're looking for. Anything else I've got to say has already been said on the other reviews, buy this!

The AEM intake is worth the money if you wanna get rid of the stock air box and add some "bling" and get a little power in higher rpm range, also it's one of the most common upgrades for rx8 owners finally got mines and I'm loving it. The price is by far the cheapest I've seen on the internet for this product in new condition, and I searched every where forums, store, on+off/line, and this is the cheapest if you have an rx8 and you want to do a cold air intake I suggest the AEM and if you decide to go turbo later on you reuse the piping from the AEM CAI.

I don't personally own this intake but know many folks that have this on their car. The AEM intake for the RX8 is one of the few aftermarket intakes that is well designed and actually increases performance (slightly) for the RX8. AEM designed and makes this intake for Mazda as the Mazdaspeed intake for the RX8. If you decide later to have a custom turbo kit created for your car this is one of the few intakes that can also be modified to bolt on to your turbo kit. I recommend this over the Injen intake or K&N typhoon V2. I personally have the Racing Beat intake on my RX8 and it's excellent but would also recommend the AEM.
