Blank nesting doll overcome through up to 15 operations in the hands of a turner before becoming a finished doll. The artist uses special fine brushes and water-based paint. The final step is applying safe varnish.
Only safe materials are used in the process of creation.

I bought this nesting doll set to replace the half of the other set that I believe accidentally got tossed. I did not realize they came in different colors other than the traditional brightly colored ones, so I was pleasantly surprised to find these. I have a mostly neutral color scheme in my home, and these fit in very well. I will probably keep them "nested" together for the time being, until my littlest one decides to stop throwing away random things in our house. Please note if you have littles that like to put things in their mouth they shouldn't, the smallest pieces of this set are very tiny and are choking hazards. I think that should be obvious without saying, but just a heads up as I am in that stage of life at the moment. I think these would make great housewarming gifts, closing gifts, etc. as well. The designs are painted so carefully and beautifully.

My son loves playing with it. It is an incredibly useful teaching tool for exploring visual discrimination, the concepts of order and symmetry, differentiation of size, and developing fine motor skills.
