About this item

  • Jeep Wrangler (JK) 07-11 V6-3.8L
  • Serrated/Helix Design
  • T-6061 Billet Aluminum Construction
  • Longer Intake Track
  • 50-state legal (CARB E.O Number D-550-5)

Silver Bullet throttle body spacer is constructed from precision machined T-6061 billet aluminum and is designed using a serrated/helix design that creates turbulence in air flow at the point just prior entry into the engine. This turbulence helps the air/fuel charge burn completely providing increased horsepower, torque and improved throttle response.

Serrated/Helix Design:

The Serrated/Helix combination design creates intake turbulence in the combustion chamber. This turbulence breaks up the fuel which creates a more complete combustion cycle increasing horsepower, torque and improving throttle response. The Serrated/Helix combination design also reduces intake whistle that occurs with Helix only designs.

T-6061 Billet Aluminum Construction:

All Silver Bullet Throttle Body Spacers are constructed from T-6061 billet aluminum precision machined for light weight, high strength and perfect fit and finish.

Longer Intake Track:

Adding a Silver Bullet Throttle Body spacer lengthens the intake track which helps increasing intake air speed increasing performance and improved throttle response

This throttle body spacer is 50-state legal (CARB E.O Number D-550-5).

Ok so I installed this throttle body spacer by aFe, it was fairly simple and straight forward. Nothing tedious or crazy about the install. Its just 4 bolts and a gasket. My initial thoughts on the drive after the install was "is that it". Well I'm not satisfied and I have not seen an increase in gas mileage or in acceleration on the low end. If its doing something it might be that I am unable to see or tell as its so minor. I am hoping this review is helping someone and I wish someone would have done an in depth review for me before spending the money.

I was actually surprised with this bolt on piece from AFE. MPG gains were pretty good considering its not a huge spacer. I have a 2010 Wrangler and wanted to get some of my MPG back from the lift and tires, I went from 12 to about 14 to 14.5 depending on how I accelerated. There is definitely a noticeable throttle response and Power gain. Its nothing substantial, so don't get all butt hurt that your jeep isn't doing 0-60 in 5.2. You're in a Jeep, a box on wheels, a wind puncher not a wind cutter. Great product, would by again.

I installed this spacer along with a K&N Performance Intake Kit on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. After the first road test the Jeep was idling very rough. I drove it some more on both highway and in town. It continued to idle very rough and the engine nearly stopped running. I drove over to my mechanic's shop. He's a renowned off-road vehicle builder and award winning competitor in off-road events. He immediately told me to remove spacer. In his words, "Those cause more problems than they're worth!" So, I drove home, removed the spacer, and the engine idled smoothly once again. I cannot recommend this spacer.

I bought this TBS after buying the aFe cold air intake and flashpaq superchip. The intake and chip by far improved the performance of my 08 Jeep Jk but the TBS didnt do anything noticable exept an annoying whistle that sounds like your breaks are squeaking when you hit 2000 rms, doesnt squeak continuously just at certain rpm points. Waste of money in my opinion

I installed this at the same time as the aFe sealed cold air intake, so I cannot say exactly which made the bigger difference. I can say that the pair together made a HUGE difference in power throughout the RPM range. My guess is that more of the power difference came from the cold air, and more of the boost in throttle responsiveness from the spacer.Installation is simple! 4 bolts, gasket (I chose to use a small bit of liquid gasket as well) - and done! Only thing to be mindful of is the throttle body sensor which must be detached. Remember to never force apart or together your sensor plugs! At first, because of dirt buildup, I did not fully plug the sensor back in, and upon starting the Jeep, all sorts of warning lights came on, and the engine wouldn't rev over 2k... anyway - easy fix! Just something to be mindful of that I slipped up on.The sound: This spacer has a cool, almost turbo-like sound. I like it! It's a high pitched whine you mostly hear when the throttle is about 1/4 open. As I said, I like it! But some may not - it's nothing so loud that isn't' easily overpowered by radio and road noise though. Enjoy!

According to the "butt dyno" there is a difference in power but I do not have anything official. The install was pretty easy but there is one bolt, the lower right bolt that is a little difficult. The clamp that holds the hose from the water pump needs to be moved so that you can have access to the bolt. Other than that it is an easy install. There is a slight whine but it isn't all that bad. It almost sounds like a super charger... I wish.

I found the AFE Silver Bullet throttle body spacer to give my 2010 3.8ltr V6 Jeep JK Rubicon a noticeable power gain in sharp acceleration and performance boost,AFE throttle body spacer combined with the K & N air filter and straight thru hotdog resonator on my jeep really brings the 3.8ltr V6 alive.Great product and highly recommend it if your chasing cheap and easy HP and TQ...

Ive recently installed this TBS along with a CAI,Exhaust, and a Unichip Flash Programer... In a all I can tell you I hear the TBS working, its hard to tell the exact gains from the TBS and exclude the others but with what I recommend its to do all the basic bolt on's which I have done... It made a day/night difference in performance... Whats also funny about the comments on the whistling you get when you add the TBS, you tell me what TBS doesn't whistle so don't complain about it when you know its going to do it, or don't install the product and write about how bad it is... Overall I can hear it whistling, which its telling me its doing its job, I would recommend this product but also going ahead and getting a CAI, Exhaust, and Programmer to adjust the new add on's ....
