I bought this and had very high hopes. I could not install it at the time i bought it due to weather conditions, however, when the weather warmed up I tried and the product simply did not fit

It did not fit the car I ordered it for! I had to make adjustments to get it to fit!

The only thing I disliked about this product was the hosing that connects to the throttle body was too short, as well as the hosing elbow that attaches the air filter to the intake… other than that, very good product and I noticed an immediate improved in MPG.

READ THIS REAL PERSON HERE!!!! lol ok anyway. This fit 2014 Subaru Legacy 2.5i. What you will need to do is get a 2.99 adapter for your hose. Look they include a hose with this package however in order to take stock out and put this one in is just a head ache, I did not want to deal with. I used a step down brass hose splice and a screw type hose clamp that came with the kit and the original clip to secure together. I first connected the hose to the intake pipe with the screw type and then cut the hose ones I knew where it met up with the stock one from factory. Easy done. Also this kit includes a rubber sleeve that you will need to not forget to put on your filter cover part around the edges. Otherwise have a second helping hand to hold it in place and wiggle it in while you are clamping the rest together. Got this for my brother and installed it today. He loves it and feels improvement. You will need to disconnect the battery to reset the stored values otherwise you will get a check engine light, e brake light flashing and cruise control arrow on and off. Now no lights and everything is running beautifully. The engine finally can breath and it’s happy. (I am a Subaru fanatic and am on my third one also got my brother into a the family. Look up Wicked Big Meet if you love Subaru’s )

45 mins to install. I used a heat gun to soften the breather hose. The rest was fit and play. I think installing it at night might have made this installation take longer. However, I had issues adjusting the housing box to the stock half box. The steel tube fits just right to use the clamps to be able tighten them.Furthermore, the main issue was the fitting for the mass flow air sensor which didn’t fit well and caused check engine light to come on. The sensor didn’t seat flush. I wouldn’t recommmed buying this product. For that high of a price. They need to make sure it’s designed to fit the sensor just like oem tube. Otherwise having the check engine light on all of the time is not fun.

I had to modify the setup to make this cold air intake work, which is really disappointing, considering the amount of money I paid for this thing. The rubber elbow was too short so I had to buy a coupler and then the hose clamps were too small for the smaller hose so I had to buy bigger ones. I had to spend about $20 on extra items I had to purchase to make it work. The disappointing thing though is the coupler actually reduced the size of the intake tube in that area.People need to know that this product will not fit their 2013 Subaru Legacy 2.5i even though the fitment checked out for my car.

First of all this item is a very nice fit, the only thing I worry about is it is very close to the aluminum air conditioner hose on the firewall and I was a little afraid of it making contact so I tie wrapped a small piece of pipe insulation and problem solved. It provides much needed low end torque and since it uses the factory air box the unit is not loud at all. I had a Toyota Camry with a K&N Typhoon which was a wonderful intake but was very loud. I am very pleased with this intake and it is the only one available for the 2010 and later Outback/Legacy. Only takes a few minutes to install and the product is very well made I would buy again. This is a dry filter and washes with soap and water unlike the K&N which needs to be cleaned with a solution and then re-oiled which takes hours before the car can be driven. This is my first Takeda and from this experience will not be the last.Just a update, my wife's 2012 Outback was repurchased by Subaru in December 2013 and Subaru replaced it with a 2014 Outback. The 2012 and 2014 have different 2.5l engines (Outback replaced the engine in 2013 Outback models)but the engine intake is still the same placement. I was able to install this intake on the new 2014 Outback and it really fit a little better around the air conditioner lines (more clearance). The only issue is the PCV hose is about 4" to short, 1/2" barb connector and 4" of vacuum hose along with 2 stainless hose clamps did the trick.
