I put this to help me get my boat off the trailer on to jacks.I have 4 floor jacks:4 ton Big Red (BR)3 1/2 ton Michelin (M)2 1/4 ton Northern Tool (NT)1 1/2 ton Performance Tool (PT)Figured it must fit one but no.The center is too long for the M and NT.There's no way it can connect to the BR or PTWill have to cut and weld to make a usable tool.

One of the two reasons I bought this jack crossbeam was that it was advertised as "Made is USA". (Both here on Amazon's website, and at other retailers.) It used to be made in state of IL, USA. But it no longer is, now its just another Made in China product. (Perhaps Amazon has a large amount of "old stock" on hand that was actually made in the USA, which would mean buy it fast at Amazon if you want a unit that was actually made in the USA. As it is now made in China, I no longer trust the 2 Ton Capacity claim at full extension. (The claim is likely good at minimum extension.) It might be valid, but with China made steel and manufacturing, I no longer trust the claim. The weight limit was the second reason I bought this particular unit, as SureWerx (American Forge & Foundary brand owner) claimed this cross beam maintains its weight limit at it's maximum extension length. (Many other crossbeams do not claim that, often dropping to 1.5 tons limits at max extension, which is not high enough for my use.) But to be blunt, being made in China does NOT provide assurance that the claim is meaningful. (And welding on only two of four sides of the reinforcement plate didn't help that concern in my mind.)For a China made product, product quality appears good, the weld's look OK on the reinforcement plate, but they are welded on only two of the four sides, which makes no sense, as the two un-welded sides would have also provided additional stability. Without them, the two welds that are there take much greater twisting loads (pulling apart loads) down their length because the other two sides are not welded. (Again, making me seriously question the crossbeam's claims on Capacity Limit.) Not sure if this is by design by SureWerx, or of the China subcontractor decided to save money on welding. Also, I bought elsewhere as Amazon's price was poor. (But, indirectly related to buying at Amazon, I had to purchase the jack twice, using two retailers, as most retailer's drop-ship this item directly from AFF, which is now SureWerx. Amazon ships everything themselves from Amazon warehouses, good, but hence their higher price. My first purchase/ship attempt was BAD with the first NON-Amazon retailer, so Amazon's price might not be that bad once the hassle factor is factored in..)

First of all, the one I received appeared to be used. It was scratched up and dirty. But I didn't care about that. It was going to get scratched up and dirty in my garage, so it made no difference to me.BUT... after I got it put together I realize it only spread out to about 3 feet across. The frame rails on my car are about 5 feet apart, so a 3 foot spread is worthless. In hindsight I see that the description says it has a maximum 38 inch spread, but I don't see how that is useful for anyone who needs to jack up one end of their car. The jacking points on every car are way wider than 38 inches.
