I'm a volunteer firefighter, and I wanted another carabiner to have. This is actually a bit bigger than I was looking for, but not in a bad or good way. It's a bit heavy, though, but I don't have many OSHA-approved ones to compare it too, but you will be able to feel and find it a lot easier. It's just a basic silver no frills here, and it does it's job.Has a pin you can into the bottom as well. You can probably see it in their photos.I also love how the rotation is a lot shorter but is still super secure makes opening it a lot quicker but easier.

One minor caveat, those little metal pins fall out very easily, but other than that, they seem to be good carabiners

This is a very heavy duty gate carabeaner it's made out of stainless steel and it has a rolling lock gate. This is specifically for fall arrest systems and safety harness set ups. Professional quality. Comes with instructions. Very good carabeaner.

I own many carabiners from well-known manufacturers such as Petzl, Black Diamond, DMM, CAMP, among others.Based on the product info on the Amazon page, I was initially skeptical that this "off brand" carabiner (specifically "AFP Steel Twist-Locking D-Steel High-Strength Carabiner w/ Pin"; the product markings show "YOKE" - so the actual manufacturer may be Yoke Niagara) was an ANSI-rated carabiner as claimed. (As it turned out, I was pleasantly surprised, as explained below.)Reasons for my doubts included: 1) Apparent lack of relevant ANSI markings per product images. (Multiple pictures on the Amazon website show only one side of the carabiner where EN362:2004 European standards engraving is visible. It implies (among other things) breaking strength of 20kN (~4,500 lbs) or more, and that matches up with the text description claiming 5,000 lbs (22.25kN) breaking strength. (NOTE: kN is "kilo-newton", a unit of force.) 2) the claimed breaking strength of only 5,000 lbs seemed unusually low for a steel carabiner.20~22kN should be adequate for most situations, but 22.25kN/5,000 lbs is a surprisingly low number for a steel carabiner. For reference, "real" rock climbing rated carabiners (not to be confused with keychain carabiners or those meant for hanging a hammock, etc. - Amazon sells many of those, some would argue "too" many...) have at least 20kN and often 25kN or more of minimum breaking strength along the major axis. (Major axis is usually the long axis - the direction in which the biner is meant to be used, in line with an anchor and attached rope). Additionally, reputable carabiners for rock climbing applications tend to carry the UIAA certification markings too. Most of those are made of lighter-weight aluminum, whereas this one is a heavy steel carabiner meant for industrial uses. But to my pleasant surprise, once I received the product, I could see that THE OTHER SIDE of the carabiner has the important markings including the 41kN (~9,200lbs) minimum breaking strength along the major axis. (See attached picture.) That is nearly double the breaking strength of the claimed 5,000 lbs in product description and what I would expect from a legitimate steel carabiner. (I don't know why the seller didn't highlight this fact.)In addition, to comply with the ANSI Z359.12 requirements, the gate is marked with minimum breaking strength of 3,600 lbs (16kN) "in all directions", including the gate, which is the weakest point/direction in a carabiner. (Again, please refer to my photo. ANSI = American National Standards Institute)So in conclusion, this is indeed a legitimate heavy-duty ANSI-compliant steel carabiner that is suitable for use in life-critical PPE industrial applications. In hand, it appears and feels well-made; the twist-lock gate operates smoothly. (Twist lock gates provide safety and convenience of an automatic locking gate, while also requiring deliberate actions (rotate and pull/push) before the gate opens, in order to minimize the risk of accidental opening.) So I am comfortable giving this product 5 stars, even though it's not from one of the better known brands.NOTE: As already mentioned, this is a HEAVY steel carabiner (as opposed to an aluminum carabiner). My kitchen scale indicates 254g / 9 oz - that's over half a pound. While you could use this and other steel carabiners in rock climbing type applications, lighter-weight aluminum carabiners are generally preferred for sporting/outdoor uses. (I mention this, because one of the product images the Amazon seller is using shows a hiker/climber using this carabiner.... :-)

This is a well build carabiner. Just getting your hands on it you can feel how tough it is. The twist-lock moves smoothly with no binding. The ratings are clearly stamped on the carabiner. While it has not been tested by me to its max capacity, it has withstood the hammock and people hopping in and out without incident.
