I have used this lens with both Aida and Marshall POV cameras to record church services. It has the clearest and sharpest image of any lens I've worked with. I will buy more for future projects.

I don’t often leave reviews but this lens has really surprised me. If you are using the Aida cameras for live streaming and need to get a tighter shot with good sharpness this lense works very well. I have a couple of these cameras that I use for live streaming at my church and for awhile I was using some cool prime c-mount ciné lenses but I think I’m going to sell those and switch my cameras to this one. It’s sharp and easy to set up if you simply understand the basics of manual zoom lenses. There is one review here giving it a one star that complains that the focus doesn’t stay locked when you zoom it. Duh. 99% of manual zoom lenses are like that and the silly thing is $130 and you are mounting it on a $300 camera. Those types of features are available on much more expensive systems or really any camcorder. I do feel that the Aida cameras give better image quality when paired with the right lens than a standard camcorder would though. All in all you have to spend way more money to get a better lens that does what this one does. It’s a no brainer for use in a situation where you need multiple cameras with flexibility on a budget.

I wasn't quite sure how the 50mm (zoom) would work because people have told me that 50mm is like looking through glass at your subject. HOWEVER, when setting up the camera about 30 feet away from the subject area, I was able to get a nice 12 foot wide shot. So there is more to looking through glass than meets the eye. Adjusting zoom, focus and f-stop took about 30 seconds to get what we needed. I would recommend this combination with the Aida HD-100a camera for any church looking for a cost effective solution for streaming.

The Focus does not track with the zoom, so as soon as you change the focal length, you lose focus.I am not certain about the iris control either. It really seems to be a choice between open (f1.4) or shut.So far, I am not very impressed. The Aida HD camera works fine with the the original lens. But not so very well with this second lens. No manual or comments anywhere about the lens.
