If you own an RV, you may know that the compressor’s electric motor current spikes momentarily during system startup. If you are boondocking or running a generator, that spike can overload your system. That’s what this soft-start system avoids. It starts the A/C system slowly and reduces the high current spike to allow you to run the A/C on a smaller generator without the overload.I compared this unit to a name brand soft start I installed in my camper last year and I’m impressed with the quality. Additionally, the unit comes with all necessary components and hardware to install it and it has an impressive information library for the do-it-yourselfer (like me). They supply a USB thumb drive that details the step by step installation instructions for every RV A/C system! I looked and it had about 50 different A/C systems listed so you should be good no matter what unit you have.Very Pleased, Great Value For The Price and Great Quality!
