These filters are a good size. They are thin so air should come through just fine. They fit differently in different vents, but are easily trimmed to fit. I'm hoping that they will keep bugs out from one spot and keep food in in the kitchen instead of it going down the vent. They should also help catch some of the dust from the ducts. They seem like a simple and easy solution to many issues.

These filters work great and really help keep the dust down in the house. Older homes have older ducts that have collected a fair amount of dust and dirt over the years. AC/furnace filters filter the air going into the unit but these vent filters make the biggest difference in the air we breathe by working at the other end, at each vent in each room. I also don't need to dust as often, even when it's windy. The thickness is perfect for our unit. I didn't want anything too thick, no merv rating type thing, just catch the dust. Anything stronger than would put undue stress on our new ac unit because it's oversized for the number of vents.

These were exactly what I was looking for. I placed these filters inside my air returns and they covered the return ducts perfectly so that the dirt does not get sucked through the rest of the house. They do a great job at catching any random dog hairs that might be floating around the air. They a huge value for the money and save on furnace filter replacement costs and even more costly air duct cleanings.

Like many people, our heating/cooling system doesn't always heat or cool evenly. We have a problem, especially with our downstairs, which is always cold. Our main level is generally comfortable, but our lower level is always cold. We have an open staircase & it seems that the cool air always goes down to the lower level. We used these magnetic vent covers to cover all of the vents in the basement. We found that if we close off the air vents, it seems to help keep it a little warmer. Even with the vents closed, some air still seems to leak out. These magnetic covers do a pretty good job of stopping the small amount of air leakage, keeping the rooms a little warmer. We also covered the intake vent down there, which helps prevent the system from recirculating the old air.There's less of a problem in the winter. Though the warm air doesn't sink down to the basement level, the furnace & water heaters are down there & they give off enough heat to keep the areas warm. The walls are all well-insulated, so there's little heat loss. And though we have baseboard electric heat in the basement bedrooms & bathroom, we rarely need to use it because the heat from the appliances keeps the area warm enough & the insulation holds it in fairly well. It has made a big difference in the comfort of our basement level. Now we can have family and friends use the basement level bedrooms without being concerned that they will be too cold in the summer or the winter.
