I’m an auto tech and this gets used daily. Very handy tool to have around and it’s so much more quite them some other brands. As for breakaway torque so far it’s done it’s job. Haven’t run into anything it couldn’t break loose yet. But anything you need a 3/8 for shouldn’t be too tight for this.

Great Air Ratchet, and as good as the Tool Truck versions.Pros:Feels solid in your hand, unlike some other ratchets that use alot of plastic.Good price (got it for $80ish)Power, easily removes 50lbs torqued boltsFinish is good and has YET to come off even after being cleaned with brake cleaner a few times.Trigger control to adjust rpms.Quieter than most of the Air Ratchets I've used.Cons: The "composite" metal body is very porous, so it can be difficult to clean oil or grease that gets on it but tool has a good grip feel due to the pores, so its a decent trade-off.Knuckle-buster, especially if you're not used to the kick of a stronger Air Ratchet.Even though its rated at 200rpm, feels kinda SLOW, much slower than the Milwaukee ratchets and those are also rated at 200rpm.bulky but not much bulkier than other air ratchets.Trigger control is pretty meh, not the smoothest feeling.Overall, recommended this ratchet if you're in the market for a Air ratchet.

Works good but the forward reverse switch is too tight and not easily switchable. Comfortable grip

Heavy truck tech, read good reviews about it, gotta give it a try, strong & quiet. Snap on sells them but still saved $$$, keep you posted on life span although it's not an every day tool I use.

I’m a professional auto mechanic so it gets used every day. Quietest air ratchet I’ve ever owned. The lack of noise might fool you into thinking it lacks power, believe me it doesn’t (as my jammed hand will attest to). It will easily hit 65 ft/lbs of torque (checked with a Snap On torque wrench ) which is more than enough in my opinion, if you want more use an impact gun.Overall it’s a great tool that I hope to have for a few years to come.

The following review is for a combination of items I purchased the same day. After much research I found the following combination of items to meet my needs. I wanted a big enough air compressor to drive an air impact wrench which would take my lug nuts off and be handy for smaller chores.I’m very much satisfied with my purchase. I’ve read horror stories whereby people buy air tools & compressor only to find they need to manually remove lug nuts. I would’ve been extremely disappointed with that kind of investment. With that said, the air impact wrench can easily take off my lug nuts for both my car and SUV. The ratchet works well for smaller jobs such as removing bolts for my brake calipers, shocks and can fit in a reasonable opening. It has some bulk to it but I can find myself using it for many other automotive tasks. The hose I bought works fine. Not sure how to write a review on it as it delivers air to the tools just fine.I bought an attachment to inflate my pool pillows in the fall and pool floats in the spring. Now I can enjoy a beer without getting winded. I bought the air impact sockets from Lowes, since they were cheap enough. By and far, this was a worthwhile investment. I’m looking forward to purchasing other air tools. Here's the list of the stuff purchased on Amazon that met my needs listed above.- Makita MAC5200 Big Bore 3.0 HP Air Compressor- Aircat ACR802R 3/8-Inch Ratchet, Large- AIRCAT 1000-TH 1/2-Inch Composite Air Impact Wrench With Twin Hammer Mechanism- Goodyear EP 46501 3/8-Inch by 25-Feet 250 PSI Rubber Air Hose with 1/4-Inch MNPT Ends

I am a home mechanic-This tool was recommended, and I previously bought a BIG 1/2" drive impact gun of this brand. With my limited use, I expect these to work fine for me for a long while! So far this ratchet has worked fine- I have used it on some bolts to install my rear bumper, and remove some stuck bolts. It runs much slower than other air tools I have, but that makes sense as there is a gear reduction to get the torque. My only complaint is it is quite large in the hand. That is fine for big bolts but, I will switch to the 1/4 inch ratchet for smaller everyday tasks. One thing I forgot to mention, I received my first ratchet a month ago. It worked, but there was a significant internal air leak and the air inlet was not tapped straight but, at an angle. It worked but leaked. Thanks to Amazon's excellent return policy, they Immediately shipped out a second ratchet that works fine.So-Ratchet works fine so far.Torquey.Large and long body- (may not fit in small spaces)-Good Price.May have quality control issues at factory.Recommended

Yes it's made in SE Asia. Yeah, it also costs $77.00. This isn't some terrible Harbor Freight-quality tool however.Plenty of torque - this thing will bust your knuckles if you aren't careful. It doesn't have quite the power that my Snap-On ratchet does, nor does it have the power of the big 3/8 ratchet that Matco sells. However I learned a long time ago that super-high torque and RPM aren't terribly important in a 3/8 air ratchet anyway, and the AirCat seems to provide more than enough of both for tasks it should be used for (70 ft-lbs is quite a lot if you're wondering, and that's about what most $300+ guns of this size are rated for).Quiet - Folks that don't use an air ratchet everyday may never come to appreciate this feature, but it is significantly quieter than any comparable tool I've ever used. The noise factor wasn't much of a selling point for me when I purchased this, but I've really come to enjoy a quieter tool over that past couple of weeks. It's also the right size. Less bulky or similar in size to other 3/8 ratchets I've owned/used, but larger than some in its class as well. I think it's a good middle ground given the impressive power.Ergonomics are pretty good as well. I'm not wild about the button/lever shape and placement, but it may just take some getting used to.The overall quality of construction seems fine, but I'm going to have to give it 6 months of heavy use in the shop before I'll say it's durable or well-made.After two weeks of fairly heavy use, I'm having a hard time saying anything bad about it, particularly when I consider that I payed less than $80 for it.Update, Oct 2012: After 5 months of heavy use and moderate abuse, I'm feeling even smarter about this purchase. It's been dropped, dragged, and on one occasion had an 80-lb pipe wrench fall onto it, yet the polymer case is still holding up. I use it so much that I have to remind myself to pull out its Snap-On counterpart every now and then for an oiling and some exercise. It's not as good as my FAR7200, but I could buy and ship five of these AirCats for the price of the Snap-On. The motor is still quiet, and I've never once used it as intended and felt like it lacked power. The button/lever has grown on me as well.Honestly I'm thinking about trying out some other Aircat tools if this is the kind of quality I can expect. If you're in the market for your first air ratchet, and especially if you're in need of a backup, I would recommend taking a serious look at this product before dropping hundreds of dollars on one of its peers.
