While I haven’t been super impressed with some of the other products, this one came out really nice. Yes, it’s a little extra work but that didn’t bother me. I like the upgraded look.

Instead of cease and desist orders, Toyota should look hard at aquiring (for a price) certain aftermarket items as oem! Fit and finish is perfect!The last piece I needed to complete the blackout!

This looks so much better than the ugly knob Toyota used that didn't match anything else in the truck.Watch the youtube install video for step by step instructions. I was a little wary about disassembling a functioning (and critical) 4WD selector, but the install process was easy to follow and the 4WD knob works just like before, but looks 100% better. you should get the AJT door handle covers with this knob. You know you want them - might as well finish dechroming everything while you're at it...

Nice Tacoma chrome delete option, great quality, fit and finish as well as aftermarket look. Easy to install and pairs great with other AJT's aftermarket accessories. They also have well made installation videos available for their products on their website. Definitely will be buying/installing more of their products.

If you're doing a chrome-delete like the rest of us you'll probably want to replace you 4x4 knob with it's ever so slight lip of chrome. I actually bought this off of AJT Design's website because they were offering a sale if you bought the "Start Engine" ring together. AJT's website shows the process for replacing the 4x4 knob and it's a lot more involved that you might think -> MAKE SURE to watch the video before you click the buy option because you will be removing a fair amount of the dash (I'm glad I didn't watch the video, because if I had I probably would have passed on this item! and I'm glad to have it!). That being said, the video is very good with the exception of the last step, "removing the part of the original knob with the chrome ring." If you look at the video on youtube you'll see lots of people comment with this issue and several people have had much difficulty. Hoping to help I've added a picture of the ring removed so you can see what the clip looks like that you are trying to pry free. It's not a straight-forward tab like I thought based on all the other parts removed, but a pair of tabs both with a hole in the middle. If you want to retain this knob for future use you will have to CAREFULLY push on the tab above the hole and the top of the corners to the left and right of it AWAY from the center of the ring and ALSO slightly downward. On my ring one side was a lot easier to slip off than the other and getting that done was a giant mental reassurance to getting the other half done. Once the ring is off you swap it out for the AJT ring, which is nice (although the price of all these things seems a little ridiculous except for the fact it seems like only 2 people in the country are making these things; AJT/MESO), and reassembly is straightforward after that. I really like how this completes my chrome delete inside the truck and the fit and feel of the piece is 5 stars.
