Your cart is empty.The HSD271 professional over-ear, closed headset is a standard for intercom, ENG/EFP work and video production. It is based on the successful K271 MKII Studio headphones combined with a rugged dynamic microphone. The flexible microphone arm mutes the microphone automatically as it is moved up. The microphone can be mounted to the left or right side, depending on personal preference and available space. The HSD271 features a switch in the headband that mutes the audio just as soon as the headphones are taken off. The plug-in cable with a six-pin mini XLR connector allows quick replacement of the cable.

I am a musician who uses these for recording and tracking. I can hear everything from very low-frequency bass to the highest frequencies.They are comfortable. The cord plugs into the headset via a robust, locking, 6-pin metal jack that has never given me any issues. It reminds me of a smaller, XLR-type jack in terms of durability and design.When you take them off they auto-mute, which is nice in the studio.The mic quality is surprisingly good! I have been able to do vocal takes with it. Obviously it's not going to replace a true vocal mic, but it's proven surprisingly useful for getting down ideas and demos.The construction is very solid and comfortable without seeming heavy. They do not creak when you move your head, and while there is plastic used in the build, they do not feel plasticky or shoddy like so many others. I believe they are made in Austria, at least, mine were.I feel in the past few years headphones became popular and many brands rushed out over-designed pieces of plastic with little concern to actual sound quality or build quality. AKG is the exact opposite of that. They use the same basic design as 15 years ago and give you professional-quality without the nonsense. And they are better than many that cost a lot more.This is the genuine artice.
