For a variety of miking applications including lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and brass instruments, the black Project Studio P220 Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone from AKG features a 1" true condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern. The cardoid pattern helps focus audio capture in front of the capsule, reducing unwanted ambient sound from the other sides and back. A low-cut filter at 300 Hz allows you to cut unwanted low end from your sources, while its selectable -20 dB pad allows the mic to handle SPLs up to 155 dB, allowing it to be placed in front of a variety of sources. A spider shockmount and aluminum carry case are included. This bundle includes a Pop filter & and extra XLR-XLR cable.

I was absolutely blown away by the improvement of input between the AKG and the Focusrite Studio Microphone. For the price, this microphone allows for recording of professional sounding vocals at a price that can't be beat.

I haven't even tried it out yet and I'm sure it's fine but it didn't ship with a pop filter. Where is it?

Truly high quality. This came highly recommended by an audio engineer friend of mine. So far I am loving it.

Really great sounding microphone, nice bass to give it that podcast sound. Everything is really sturdy and well made. Almost too sturdy, this is a very heavy setup with the microphone and shock mount together, my stand can barely hold it. That's only to be overly nitpicky on an otherwise perfect microphone.

Very nice Mic, it was packaged nicely and shipped promptly, I was confused it had no instructions, though I will still give a 5 star rating as for the most part you just plug it in and go from there. I think I would say it's equal to the RODE NT1A, though I think as to vocals I may give the edge to the AKG P220, I have it basically for my stand up mic. I might do a comparison video with the two as the RODE NT1A is also set as either a set down or stand up mic. The AKG P220 is a great mic for its value.

Like this mike. Use it for vocals but I'm sure it could be used for acoustic instruments. A lot of mike for the price !
