First things first. This is a fully DIY experimentation kit. It is not meant to be or intended in anyway to be a complete "paint by numbers" kit. It assumes you understand a basic level of electronic, beyond how to identify resistors and other components. You MUST be able to use a multimeter, understand how to adjust trim pots, and be confident it soldering. There are no instructions, but if you REALLY have a hobbyist understanding of electronics (like really, not just you think you do) you will not need them.If you have met the above requirements, this is a very straight forward, good quality kit, that saves you the time of populating a driver board for the VU meters. That's it. How you decide to implement the VU meters is up to you. Send an audio signal you want to meter in the inputs and enjoy observing the relative levels of your signals.The LED brightness can be adjusted with CLR's (if you don't know what this is this kit isn't for you)The meters can be calibrated (if you don't have a signal generator or multimeter this kit is useless to you)Yes you can use any VU meters as long as they meet the electrical requirements for the driver boardSo if you want a paint by numbers complete kit that you can basically wire together and go off the races that's not what this is.If you understand electronics, are creative, and don't mind doing a little homework online to get it perfect than this is a great little nerd device.

These look like some meters I used back on the 1990's except they are smaller. They work well and look great!. the driver board is well built and each channel has an independent sensitivity control. I had a minor issue with one of the meters, and the seller was very responsive and made it right. I'm very pleased with the meters, and the seller. Buy with confidence.
