A hydrometer is an instrument used to measure the specific gravity of liquids; that is, the ratio of the density of the liquid to the density of water.
An alcoholometer is a hydrometer which is used for determining the alcoholic strength of liquids.
The liquid to be tested is poured into a tall container, and the hydrometer is gently lowered into the liquid until it floats freely.
The point at which the surface of the liquid touches the stem of the hydrometer is noted. The product is very fragile and may come damaged. Contact us and we will send a new one!

This thing is awesome compact & small. It can be used in a pint mason jar to measure alcohol proof. I highly recommend it.

Small enough to proof in a pint jar. Saves a lot of fluid transfer during a run.

It says in the title it is for whiskey, wine or beer, but when i tried to use it to test some homemade wine, it read zero, so then, thinking i had just messed up my wine, i tested it on some jagermeister i had, and it too read zero. did some looking online and it turns out a spiritometer is used for measuring pure alcohol, not anything with dissolved sugars in it, which rules out whiskey, wine, and beer. so i have no idea if it works for its intended purpose, but i know it doesnt work for the purpose it is listed for
