I hooked it up to an old Liftmaster mechanical lift gate operator. While it works, it didn't work well for these reasons:1. Rain drops, including non-heavy rain, prevented the Photocell from closing the circuit, so my lift gate couldn't close until the rain stopped.2. Outdoor sunlight can prevent the Photocell from closing, even after I had swapped the Photocell sensor and mirror sides.I do not recommend this sensor if will be installed outdoors.

I have a hikvision camera that I was using to send me line crossing detections on my driveway and 50% of them would be false line crossings. Elements like rain, snow, and clouds (shadows) would cause unwanted line crossing notifications. So after doing some research I placed the photo eye sensor at the beginning of my drive and wired it into my alarm input of the camera. Now I have almost eliminated all false notifications and it's been great.

Replaced a two-way unit (battery on one end, power on the other) with this unit. It’s a little on the gaudy side (with a bright red light from the side at night), but it works consistently and I couldn’t be happier.

Dead on Arrival! The eye worked just fine, the led's lit up as they should and it went click click when the beam was broken, but no output from the relay terminals. I am sending it back and ordering a new one.
