PELICAN DISTILLATION APPARATUS
Only the Top Perlican flask ,with the end 24/40 joint,if you need any customized items, Feel free contact with us.
Made especially for members of the Crucible Catalog, this unique distilling apparatus
is a modern rendition of one of the Medieval alchemists' favorite pieces of labware --
the famous "Pelican." The Pelican is a circulatory distillation vessel with two side-
arms feeding condensed vapors back into the body. It resembles a pelican pecking at
its breast to feed its hatchlings with its own blood, and thus is a symbol of the
sacrifice the original solution goes through to give up its essence in the experiment.
The alchemist believed that compounds could be created in the Pelican that no other
apparatus could produce. Unit consists of lower Pelican and upper alembic or
condensing vessel.
Laboratory flasks are vessels (containers) which fall into the category of laboratory
equipment known as glassware. In laboratory and other scientific settings, they are
usually referred to simply as flasks. Flasks come in a number of shapes and a wide
range of sizes, but a common distinguishing aspect in their shapes is a wider vessel
"body" and one (or sometimes more) narrower tubular sections at the top called
necks which have an opening at the top. Laboratory flask sizes are specified by the
volume they can hold, typically in metric units such as milliliters (mL or ml) or liters
(L or l). Laboratory flasks have traditionally been made of glass

The bulb says 1000ml but it's definitely smaller than my other 1000ml round flasks, maybe 750ml? Also, the arm comes off at a pretty steep downward angle and none of my standard angled take off adapters will point a fitting straight down, its pretty darn off. That's not a SUPER big deal functionality wise but it is kind of annoying and does limit the addition types of condensers one could attach. Considering this alembic head is part of a 4-6 hundred dollar "pellican" distillation kit, you'd think they would have matched the angle to existing takeoff adapter angles, or at the very least suggested an appropriately angled bent tube with ground fittings. I've looked all through what they're selling here onnthe zon and while they sell versions of this alembic without a ground fitting that has a bent arm coming off which points straight down towards the end, its not a ground fitting. I'll have to find the angle so I can search for an appropriate fitting that'll work with this cool glass Alembic. If not I think I may have to buy a strait tube with ground fittings and bend my own adapter.

Exactly what it needs to be. Zero damage on arrival. Well made. You guys need to make one of these that is double walled with water inlets. This way you could cool the dome. Kind of like a double walled reactor.
